  • @HKUK94 Well The wrong flag will stay forever cos of that 1984 treaty and we cannot return to HK cos we promised never to do that in that dirty treaty. Many countries even the UN also recognized treaty as well as recognized Chinese sovereignty over HK.

    That why British officials, former governor Patten and Prince Charles even newly elected Prime Minister Tony Blair were very sad at Farewell and handover ceremonies cos they knew we would not return.

  • In 1935, songwriter Tian Han had to write a song for the closing of the movie "Son and Daughters of Turbulent Times," which called upon the Chinese public to resist impending Japanese invasion of China.

    Tian then received a telegram informing that his two friends, a married couple who were college students from Japanese-occupied Manchuria that had gone back to join the insurgency against the invaders, had perished. Based on his emotions then, Tian wrote this song, popularized during W.W.II.

  • China's national anthem "The March of the Volunteers" was the theme song of a 1935 movie "Sons and Daughters of Turbulent Times." China was facing full scale invasion by Japan then, and the song called upon ordinary Chinese people to resist invasion. That's why there are buggles at the beginning of the song.

    This song was one the most popular songs in China during W.W.II, so it was selected as the national anthem after the founding of the People's Republic in 1949.
