Slick Idiot is alot more fun than recent KMFDM - I love KMFDM and the MDFMK cd was great, as were alot of the side projects of KMFDM, (Skold, Excessive Force, Buck Tick, PIG, and about 78 others) but at least S.I. kept the sound KMFDM had with Symbols and Adios, but carried it in a new direction. Seems En Esch's creative role was alot bigger than how it's been portrayed,(ie this video compared to Megalomaniac)

i agree with all this, i must admit though, i did not mind WWIII, KMFDMs last few albums have all been knockoffs of eachother, hau ruck/ruck zuck/and tohuvabohu are all pretty crap. some entertaining songs but Esch and Schultz were half of a great band, and without Watts they aren't what they once were.

Probably not so much an ego issue. I would say for the same reasons any guy leaves a team project.

But it's a good point, En Esch and Schulz were quite the loss for KMFDM. At least Sascha is cool enough shit to realize that and invite them both back to the band, even if they turned down the offer.
