its not hard to some people... Some people just have the magic touch. SHDL also isn't hard. Just slide your finger from x/y to b. Even easier if you claw your controller in which case it might be aesier to shdl then to roll.
Short hop double lazering is actually ridiculously easy. I've almost mastered it and i have close to no tech skill, its really just sliding your finger off the Y button onto the b button and hitting it again. It's fairly simple, i learned it in literally about 2 minutes.

Opinion, I agree with him the R trigger is harder than the jump button to hit that fast. Therefore it's easier for me to JC, regardless of the fact that the timing is easier with waveshining in place.

All you do is push down be to shine and lightly push jump enough so that it cancels into jump animation but doesn't go anywhere and repeat. It's a lot easier than it looks. You just have to get the rhythm down.

Just slide your thumb back and forth between Y and B, or put your index finger on B and your middle finger on X and alternate as fast as your can.
It's not that difficult, actually; check out my Fox video or my alternate profile PkPCHU if you're still confused.
I've got videos of it in action, utterly no AR involved.

I dont really know bout Falco but for fox its ONLY the 4th frame, you cant shine in the 3rd frame, cuz in this frame you havent left the ground
@supercatmanboy: there is ingame sound included so its not AR, I'm not able to do it with AR anyways, cuz I dont know a lot about the Debug Menue

For falco it's the 6th frame. His jump animation is a bit longer. Hence easier/slower wavedashing, but he slides a bit longer.

Shine JC repeatedly is one possibility.
You may also cancel the shine's lag by WDing in place, but that's a lot harder to do
