When I was little, I loved this cartoon because they were cute mice and kitties singing and dancing. Now that I'm older, I love this movie because I can really appreciate the symbolism and references to the Polish and Russian immigrants that fled to America to escape the Nazi-German invasion.

I miss animated films/shows that you can enjoy at any age.

@ObbytheTrainhopper It takes place from 1885 to 1886, in this clip you can see that the Statue of Liberty is still being built. (Which led me to believe that French pigeons built the statue when I was very young XD) But yes the moral of the story is timeless nonetheless.

Whit451 is right, but funnily enough, in the French Version, the actor who dubs the pigeon imitates Maurice Chevalier's voice - which Plummer doesn't do here. And Lumière has Maurice Chevalier's voice in both the original & French version of B&B.

But, the French actor who dubs the Pigeon (Gérard Rinaldi) does not dub Lumière in B&B; he dubbed Cogsworth (only the added song "Human Again"...)
