yes, I would say this snare might be an ayotte . I've never had the opportunity to play one. of course the way his snare was tuned plays a huge role. vinnie certainly had many various snares behind during recording but his or producers decision to grab this one was simply smart. anyway my next snare on my baying-list is a BRADY jarrah ply. thanks for responding, mate!

@thekickarthur that looks like an Ayotte brand snare drum. Wood hoops, probably single ply coated head, and NO muffling. Vinnie controls the ringiness by where he hits the drum!
