Everytime the drums start playing my heart jump and i feel so little, insignificant. I feel hope and sadness. I don't know how a music can touch me this way, but it makes me feel so fucking...alive.
@RevDAre except global warming is a fact... the debate is weather or not we are a primary cause.... the fact of the matter is that the average temperatures of the planet have been increasing
@SeniorSmurf1 We are still technically in an ice age over 40,000 years ago. or so DeanLeysen said so, but either way earth has had the ice poles melt and refreeze but probably hasn't happened as quick as its doing it now
@RevDAre I guess it would be better for the developed world but not for the developing world if it creates expensive regulation which hinders growth and prevents people from coming out of poverty. Just my opinion. Taking care of the environment is a good thing but should not be the priority particularly for poor states.
Can anyone be kind enough to write the speech that is in the middle of the song? I want to know what they say but I don't understand much English listening but if i read i understand better, thank you...
@childrenoflaucha "If we do not cut carbon, by 90% by 2030, then carbon emissions in the atmosphere reach 430 parts per million. And that is the point at which, unequivocally, most of the world's major ecosystems go into positive feedback. The biosphere becomes a net source of carbon dioxide... and then the game is out of our hands. It's got nothing to do with us anymore, because there's nothing we can do to stop it. There's got to be rationing and distribution among our own economies...
I'm starting an organization to change the world. It shall be a global holiday where every major spokesperson for every single country smokes a joint and listens to 65DOS, it will change the future and clear up the past. Just give me a chance and about a pound of fine herb and I can cure the Earth of inhumane acts and pollution.

V Also to add to my previous post, we are currently in an ice age, which we weren't a couple thousand of years ago, we are actually colder in the past 10K years than almost ever before according to research. Coal, Natural Gas and all forms of fuel will eventually run out, that's why we need to make more efficient fuel, not just because its quite polluting. People need to get that through their thick skulls that Al Gore was just a glory whore over his Professors advice. Oh and good song :)
I love how the media downplayed the NASA announcements saying that the projected view of carbon emissions, how the change global temperate climates and how carbon affects the atmosphere was overwhelmingly incorrect, because the fact still stands that no one will stop consumption of electricity, you are all using it right now, but making safer and less pollutant fuel sources...who here is actually helping for a cause or just complaining. Im much more worried about the fate of humanity in the face...

@Hellhelium I posted that comment 4 months ago, on 1 of my more misanthropic days. I didnt ask for it to become the top rated comment, nor do I really care. @AnonymLonen hey no offense to you man. its just that when i see people argue over something that has no connection with the video at all or in this case, argue over something that shouldnt even be argued, it just makes me feel annoyed. Especially when its in a great fucking song by a great fucking bands. I was expecting to see comments like yours. but no.
@AnonymLonen A kindred spirit such as yourself knows we're all in this together. I'd of posted a similar comment, but it appears as though most of the people who find their way to this video are somewhat like minded. If it makes any difference, I hear you, and I get you.
haha, I know exactly what you mean, most politics is too plural, especially in the UK = 'panem et circenses', which is why no solutions are drawn up. The socialism of China surely helped the planet out pretty good? as long as freedom to exploit exists (globally) socialism will never work because those with the power sell their ideals for 30 pieces of silver. Whatever I propose would be rendered fascist/extreme, because I dont regard the problem as materialistic as most others, so wont go there.
It isn't about anything our little minds have thought up. Politics, religion, all these silly things humans made up to play a game during our short lived lives. Just, why would you break something so beautiful and unique? It was never ours to break. When has it ever been okay to destroy?
Fuck you everyone and enjoy the songs. It's not like the leaders of countries and shit are reading what you are saying. Even if they are, they don't give a damn. K? K.
While I knew the song before Oxfam, I think it's great they are using a song from an underground band and helping them gain fans. Strangely, I am doing Work Experience at Oxfam. Yeah!
the soundtrack to the end of the world.I dont give a fuck about global warming,we are doomed in whatever way it happens, this song just sounds like the end of the world is coming, and its gonna be awesome
I looked down at the comments to try and get some more information about the band, maybe see a bit of discussion about the band but instead I see idiots arguing over co2 and trees. Brilliant.
and it's not propaganda, for christs sake, you might as well tell your doctor that cancer is 'propaganda' - it's science, it's accepted by 99% of the scientific community- famous global warming 'sceptics' are generally discredited celebrity scientists or right wing politicians/business men with a vested interest and UN SCIENTIFIC i.e. NON FACTUAL BASED opinion. how can you dispute the findings of scientists when none of you know one iota of what these professionals know?
all these comments say are about how ignorant so many people watching this video are- and how out of touch you are with the music. this is what 65daysofstatic are about, just as much as bob marley was about peace and rastafarianism.
Global warming is not B.S., it's science. science is fact or theory based on available facts, and the scientists who study global warming are professionals who dedicate their lives to it. now how do any one of you goons think you know 1millionth of what they know?
Just so you don't demonize CO2- you need it to breathe air. That's how the body works- the gradient of CO2 [the pressure and concentration in your body] works in conjunction with and propels your body's ability to take up the O2 in the atmosphere and move it into your tissues. In other words, remove all the CO2 in the world and you'll be dead. Look it up you sheeple of socialism and global warming.
@theaznfishy Because everybody is saying they want to remove ALL carbon dioxide in the atmosphere... Please stop being so stubborn. Just as there can be too little CO2, there is also such thing as a harmful amount. At this rate, there's no way to effectively remove 100% of it from the environment. It wouldn't kill you to cut it down a little. After all, people have survived (and even thrived) on much less of it in the past.
Because nothing reacts with carbon dioxide at all, right? Idiot...there ARE means to take CO2 henceforth and forever out of the atmosphere if the world does reach the "430 ppm" tipping point you so claim.
I wish all the pseudo-political theorists would stfu and enjoy the music, comment on the music instead of trying to flaunt your tiny political dicks, or at least do enough research and critical thinking to make reading your pointless comments worthwhile
Ah man, anything less than rampant overconsumption is too unbearable! How will I survive without my hummer, plastic packaging or burgerking?! Let's just do nothing & bury our heads in the sand instead!
Fuck our kids, let em suffer. We won't be around to see their wretched existence anyhow. Because, of course, any form of collective self-restraint = socialism.
God damn, we're fucking doomed. I'm ashamed of my species...
@AnonymLonen Yes of course all of that is true, but the earth will take us before we take it and theres fuck all we can do about it. The only thing we can try is to stay positive and have as much good will in people and belive in heaven and the soul and evolutionary change even if it doesent seem very [plausible. I believe no one is really bad society has just forced [pe[ple to do stu[pid things just to get the basic fundalmental satisfaction out of life that we would have as Animals.
@MrBrutalmashup No, theres people who are bad. Look at the villianous leaders this world has had. Hitler, Stalin, and etc.Yes, there are good people, but there are also decievers in this world along with greed and hate. Once all of the countries get along and there is no more war and I dont have to wait 10 years to see my father, then ill believe in a perfect world. Although looking at how things are, and how history has been, that perfect world will never happen.
@AnonymLonen OR.... we could start waking each other up to the illusions, deceit, hatred and greed, and turn this ship around? Yes this truth is a prickly pinecone-of-a-bitch to swallow, but lets not be like the rest of the overweight, overstressed, indifferently complacent and unmovably obstinate masses .. lets start pulling others' heads out of the sand and see through the murky gloom-veil they put over us, .. and rediscover the immeasurable and infinite beauty inherent in all forms of life
@AnonymLonen It's one thing to say we're doomed and your ashamed of your species but to blatantly say "fuck our kids, let them suffer" is just selfish and immoral.
Sure you raise a valid point that makes sense. We are doomed and I agree with that. But to let others inherit our consequence without any feeling of remorse is unacceptable.
@StackCityEntOfficial Except for that last bit, if its not blatantly obvious that you and I are on the same page and that I was satirizing the myopic and selfish tards equating conservation with socialism, then I suppose its useless to clarify further.
Or rather, you & skank apparently got my point without realizing that that was the point I was making, somehow.
Kudos. At least some people care for the future well-being of humanity beyond their own infinitesimal existence. Thats encouraging.
@AnonymLonen Ahh now I get it. You didn't necessarily mean fuck the kids as a whole but rather those who do not display some sense of value in their actions. Some kids just need to log off every once in a while and go out and do something that matters, not only for themselves but for those close. We are the end of the world and it's embarrassing that the only legacy mankind will leave behind is war and pollution. Freedumb.
@StackCityEntOfficial Sorry, you're still wrong about what he meant. Hint: he was being sarcastic. That's pretty much as blatant as a hint can get. I don't think he is saying "fuck the kids who don't care" here... Kids are supposed to learn their values from their parents anyway.
Also, it's not so much doing something that matters; I can understand why that might be difficult sometimes. It's about cutting back and making sacrifices that matter so that our future on this planet can be better.
@AnonymLonen Such things you talk about are a direct result of post-modern lifestyle but this music is very post modern, not that im a fan or anything. I guess you are implying that socialism/equal spread of resources = the solution to humanities/earths problems, well here is some news for you...it isnt, both capitalism and socialism working hand in hand is screwing the world over, both of them need ditching and replaced, it is nature that demands respect not the dead mass of workers/people.
@JPeachBand I never said it was a solution, only likely the best strategy for mitigating the shameless destruction of our planet at this particular moment in history.
Way to try to shoot down solutions without offering any of your own. You should go into politics.
@AnonymLonen You're just an ignorant refuging behind good vocabulary who most won't understand.. But i'll tell you what, global warmings have been happening a lot during earth's lifetime and it's going to keep happening, the fact that you believe that rubish about global warming being COMPLETELY caused by human makes ME feel sad for you. Human is 1 more of the causes, not THE cause. When you defend a position, make sure you know good the other positions.
@rayadasmentales so are you to say that we should do nothing because we're not completely the cause? "Yes I threw a stone at that woman, but so did 500 other people. Why should I be punished for killing her? Why should I be expected to have stood up for her?"
Only instead of a woman, it's our world, and instead of 500, it's billions, and instead of being punished, We're being poisoned. Both literally and metaphorically.
It doesn't matter what point you argue if you don't do anything to help.
@AnonymLonen A conscious social change within the mind is the answer, a mental revolution where the norms of society are turned on their head. Its not this generation that will achieve it but our kids, for we will teach them.To give up is something i would be ashamed of.
I was told a long long time ago that global warming would have caused incredible damage to the Earth by the year 2000.... 11 years later I'm still waiting for SOMETHING to happen.... "Let's call it 'climate change' now in case it gets colder".
you're right, i might be arguing the wrong point. global warming may turn out to be a problem in the future, but i believe that government heads are using it as a ploy to tax us more, hence "carbon taxing".
i'm all for being nice to the earth; so i say subsidize those who are
rationing and distribution though; go ask Russia how that worked out...
Haha. Funny how everyone thinks they're an expert when it comes to politics. Everyone has an opinion and there is no right answer. I think we should be treating our planet well because it's likely our only one. Some think we'll all die and go to heaven, so we can trash this 'temporary home'. They could be right, but since I don't believe in heaven, I tend to think we should take better care of it. But the arguing here is just a bit pathetic.
@MITCHsaysHI others will be living here after us. So... we're destroying the home of thousands of people in the future. No one should go to heaven doing this.
Rationing is needed because the Earth can't sustain over 6 billion people. Estimates state that population growth has increased by 2 billion in 20 years. Great song.
You know, when it comes to global threats, governements give no shit of what the people think. Most of them don't know a thing about chemistry, physics, can't think and make their own opinion.
Technocratie is the best, but only causes revolution cause everyone want to speak. But I can't understand how can we follow the majority when they don't know a thing. You voted for competent people helped by advisers who takes time to understand.
all i can say is fuck the human race, we are destroying this absolute beauty of a planet with stuff that should not exsist, such as vehicles and overall technology
@joseftillmann With Mr. Kerouac, Plants absorb C02. We use Methane for many things. A college near me, has just made a car (not fit for local use.. yet) that can go 1000 miles per Gallon. Then, there is the 400 mile car that is coming out soon. It's not only cars. Fertilizers are a huge impact on the atmosphere too. Fertilizers actually make up about 30% of emission problems. The Best You can do, is just be green. Ride a bike. Pick cans up for cash. Don't litter. "Strength in Numbers", my friend
Search for a video called "The Most Terrifying Video You'll Ever See", I think you all need to watch that, whether you believe in climate change/global warming or not.
That quote in the middle is a bit weak, there are plenty of better quotes that better describe positive feedback mechanisms, I think they chose it because of his accent lol
After listening to the first minute and a half of this song, I got the inspiration to start writing about global warming. I have no idea why. When the snippet in the middle started talking about emission standards, it kind of freaked me out.
from dark to light, from heaven to hell, from the farthest ends of the universe to the smallest specks of atoms... this song transcends the godlike, it makes me feel EVERTYHING
I've been watching Discovery Science for the past several days, this song is on one of their commercials, featuring Stephen Hawking. I couldn't figure out the name, but was instantly attracted to it, and now, totally by chance, stumbled upon it. Still can't believe the probability of doing so... On BIG thank you!!! A thousand thank you!
Ok well first off, plants absorb CO2 you goddamn moron so crops would be just fine; but obviously your one of the brainless freeloaders that cant make a decision based on information but rather use other peoples opinions. The only reason China has done anything this century is because they have implemented a capitalist economic system and strayed away from socialism/communism. Its people like you that will be the end of our civilization, NOT global warming. Learn how to read peasant

So what if global warming is a myth/unproven/straight up not real? It's made us all have an opinion on it and its made us more aware of the planet.
If we lived in a more sustainable, greener and economical world because of it, regardless whether it's true or not, surely that's a good thing?

I looked down at the comments to try and get some more information about the band, maybe see a bit of discussion about the band but instead I see idiots arguing over co2 and trees. Brilliant.

and it's not propaganda, for christs sake, you might as well tell your doctor that cancer is 'propaganda' - it's science, it's accepted by 99% of the scientific community- famous global warming 'sceptics' are generally discredited celebrity scientists or right wing politicians/business men with a vested interest and UN SCIENTIFIC i.e. NON FACTUAL BASED opinion. how can you dispute the findings of scientists when none of you know one iota of what these professionals know?
mjonjo 9 months ago
all these comments say are about how ignorant so many people watching this video are- and how out of touch you are with the music. this is what 65daysofstatic are about, just as much as bob marley was about peace and rastafarianism.

Look it up you sheeple of socialism and global warming.
theaznfishy 9 months ago
@theaznfishy Because everybody is saying they want to remove ALL carbon dioxide in the atmosphere... Please stop being so stubborn. Just as there can be too little CO2, there is also such thing as a harmful amount. At this rate, there's no way to effectively remove 100% of it from the environment. It wouldn't kill you to cut it down a little. After all, people have survived (and even thrived) on much less of it in the past.

AnonymLonen 11 months ago 82
@AnonymLonen Yes of course all of that is true, but the earth will take us before we take it and theres fuck all we can do about it. The only thing we can try is to stay positive and have as much good will in people and belive in heaven and the soul and evolutionary change even if it doesent seem very [plausible. I believe no one is really bad society has just forced [pe[ple to do stu[pid things just to get the basic fundalmental satisfaction out of life that we would have as Animals.
MrBrutalmashup 8 months ago
@MrBrutalmashup No, theres people who are bad. Look at the villianous leaders this world has had. Hitler, Stalin, and etc.Yes, there are good people, but there are also decievers in this world along with greed and hate. Once all of the countries get along and there is no more war and I dont have to wait 10 years to see my father, then ill believe in a perfect world. Although looking at how things are, and how history has been, that perfect world will never happen.
XxFallenRougeWolfxX 8 months ago
@AnonymLonen OR.... we could start waking each other up to the illusions, deceit, hatred and greed, and turn this ship around? Yes this truth is a prickly pinecone-of-a-bitch to swallow, but lets not be like the rest of the overweight, overstressed, indifferently complacent and unmovably obstinate masses .. lets start pulling others' heads out of the sand and see through the murky gloom-veil they put over us, .. and rediscover the immeasurable and infinite beauty inherent in all forms of life
skank6969 8 months ago
@AnonymLonen It's one thing to say we're doomed and your ashamed of your species but to blatantly say "fuck our kids, let them suffer" is just selfish and immoral.
Sure you raise a valid point that makes sense. We are doomed and I agree with that. But to let others inherit our consequence without any feeling of remorse is unacceptable.
StackCityEntOfficial 8 months ago
@StackCityEntOfficial Except for that last bit, if its not blatantly obvious that you and I are on the same page and that I was satirizing the myopic and selfish tards equating conservation with socialism, then I suppose its useless to clarify further.
Or rather, you & skank apparently got my point without realizing that that was the point I was making, somehow.
Kudos. At least some people care for the future well-being of humanity beyond their own infinitesimal existence. Thats encouraging.
AnonymLonen 8 months ago
@AnonymLonen Ahh now I get it. You didn't necessarily mean fuck the kids as a whole but rather those who do not display some sense of value in their actions. Some kids just need to log off every once in a while and go out and do something that matters, not only for themselves but for those close. We are the end of the world and it's embarrassing that the only legacy mankind will leave behind is war and pollution. Freedumb.
StackCityEntOfficial 8 months ago 4

JPeachBand 6 months ago
@JPeachBand I never said it was a solution, only likely the best strategy for mitigating the shameless destruction of our planet at this particular moment in history.
Way to try to shoot down solutions without offering any of your own. You should go into politics.
AnonymLonen 6 months ago
@AnonymLonen You're just an ignorant refuging behind good vocabulary who most won't understand.. But i'll tell you what, global warmings have been happening a lot during earth's lifetime and it's going to keep happening, the fact that you believe that rubish about global warming being COMPLETELY caused by human makes ME feel sad for you. Human is 1 more of the causes, not THE cause. When you defend a position, make sure you know good the other positions.
rayadasmentales 6 months ago
@rayadasmentales so are you to say that we should do nothing because we're not completely the cause? "Yes I threw a stone at that woman, but so did 500 other people. Why should I be punished for killing her? Why should I be expected to have stood up for her?"
Only instead of a woman, it's our world, and instead of 500, it's billions, and instead of being punished, We're being poisoned. Both literally and metaphorically.
It doesn't matter what point you argue if you don't do anything to help.
TheHikoriOne 2 months ago
@AnonymLonen A conscious social change within the mind is the answer, a mental revolution where the norms of society are turned on their head. Its not this generation that will achieve it but our kids, for we will teach them.To give up is something i would be ashamed of.

Rationing is needed because the Earth can't sustain over 6 billion people. Estimates state that population growth has increased by 2 billion in 20 years. Great song.

@thankyouspaceexpert ,
population (growth) has increased by 2 billion. see the point? the extra useless word?
sorry, could have done it in a more "decent" way.
anyway, rationing is not needed when it only concerns 99% of the population, the poor.
