Wow that is truely a good video of it powering on, I can't really recall seeing any series incandescent setup...however I do know series MV and possible HPS clamshells in Frederick MD. Series for sure for MV, but not sure on the HPS...the ignitor on the HPS are mounted closer to the arm and the ballast higher up. sometimes on the bracket!
Very cool. I have not seen any of these in years! I grew up in Coral Gables, FL where there was one of the first large scale underground 6.6A series circuits in the US. Cables were in the ground since early 1920s, and by the 1970s, ground faults were common after each rain. All were converted to HPS in the 1980s :-(
