I am in full agreement, Kige. Jason Thompson? Ryan Alexander? What about Darrell Arthur? What? a bad kidney? Well Memphis did get a huge steal. The Nets and Kings know that Arthur is better than their first round draftees.
Memphis is going to suck next year. So will New Jersey. But Portland will be a great team next year like you said, and watch out for Miami, they will deffinitely be an improved team. Minnesota is young, but more talented than you think, so they'll be a playoff team agian.
Ryan Anderson was a little bit surprising at 21, but there's no way he would have been around later. He was ranked 25-30 on most draft boards, and he was obviously the guy the Nets wanted at that point in time. Not a big reach at all, and he's a great fit for the team.
Also, speaking of the Nets, they were the ones with the steal of the draft. Chris Douglas-Roberts at 40 is beyond highway robbery. No question, he was the steal.
I think Russell Westbrook was the worst pick of the draft. They expect him to go from a really slow UCLA system to a high paced offense led by Kevin Durant. Bad pick by Seattle, well Oklahoma City.
thompson wasn't a steal of the draft but he is a pretty solid senior and much more prepared for the NBA game than a lot of the other guys. Also there was talk about the warriors taking him at 14, so i don't quite agree with you that he would have been there in 2nd round. Lastly Geoff Petrie is one of the best at what he does, i'm sure he had good reasoning to take him there.
keige hate to say it but ryan anderson, and thompson would have been gone at the end of the draft.celtics would have taken thompson at 30 and anderson would have gone before that.anderson was the pac10 leading scorer
mine is better

No way Thompson's available in the second round, Kige. You're right that he obviously went too early, but there's no way he gets past the mid-20s.

you obviously have never seen jason thompson play. you don't find many power forwards with ball handling abilities and an outside game.

"He is a good fit for this team. The Bucs need players who can play."

Zachary Feinstein was a first round pick. Sadly, he went undrafted.
