I think a lot of people are missing the point of this video. My wife breastfeeds but as a dad that really isnt an option for me (obviously). I find videos like these great for guys because our daughter didnt want to take the bottle and she screamed like crazy. But persistance and patience is the key. Make sure your wife is not in the room and keep trying eventually the baby will understand this is her only option for milk. Keep it up daily and it will get easier.
@Lyn7721 thank you. I'm not against breastfeeding but way too many people do insult bottle feeding moms and it's sad. I've had friends who were bottlefeeding for many reasons and they were insulted in the hospital even. One almost died in birth and the last thing she was thinking about was breastfeeding.
I was bottle fed and am a member of Mensa. I don't have any more problems than a breast fed baby. When I have children I will bottle feed because A) I'll be going back to work after 8 weeks and B) I want my husband to feed too, since he will be doing his share of childcare.
@RadioLaPrincess Then I suggest, if that's your attitude, then you take reasonable precautions to ensure you do not reproduce. The ''My job validates me more than my baby'' attitude, STINKS! There are mummies out there who cannot feed and have to use formula, they feel all kinds of guilt for HAVING to make this choice - you're going to just formula feed because it's more convenient to you and your job. Believe me, if you don't *have* to go back to work after 8 weeks, you won't want to.
@EmmaEmma888 it's not my complete responsibility to take care of the baby. Dad should have responsibility just as much. And no, I wouldn't stay at home. I have no respect for women who do.
@RadioLaPrincess Babies come with a whole host of responsibility - not just feeding - the dad can do his ''fair share'' without making the baby drink fake milk because you're too insecure to have time off work!. If you wanted to go back to work, you could always pump your milk, so that your baby still has the best start in life but then again, I doubt that you'd have the commitment for that.
@RadioLaPrincess Oh and as for having ''No Respect'' for full time mummies, I would like to point out that these women are NEVER off duty. They work 24hours a day with no day off, no holiday pay and most of the time, no thanks. I'd go as far as to say that they probably work harder than you.
@EmmaEmma888 not hardly. They spend all day watching soaps and eating bon bons. Or they spend all day shopping and working out while the nanny takes care of the kids. Neither of those types are hard workers. Work harder than me? Nope. Besides they can sleep in and take naps all day. They are just too lazy to work for a living.
@EmmaEmma888 because I think housewives are lazy I am a troll? Not hardly and I'd advise you to find out what a troll is instead of sitting online all day eating bon bons and getting fat along with being lazy.
If you are still having problems getting your baby to adjust to a bottle from breast feeding, I have found a solution for you. This site has some great tips and more information on how to get your baby to accept a bottle for those having problems bottle feeding.
Wow. I didn't know babies could drink so fast. Thank you for posting this video. Truthfully, I know nothing about babies. But pretty soon, I'm gonna have to know something.
@dbrooks12009 Congratulations. A good idea is to look at what people said about the video in the comments, as some videos (such as those from "expertvillage") have people who have no clue about what they're talking about. I favourited a baby changing video that seemed sensible.
Huh, instructor says to hold the baby in an upright position, head above tummy, yet the woman feeding the bottle holds her baby lying down with no correction from instructor. Also, I never saw that baby draw a breath, often heard it breaking suction. Let the baby breathe! If she let the baby take a breath and take a break, maybe even give a clue that she's done, she wouldn't have to worry so much about that spitting up.
I noticed that the "health professional" nitilly says that there could be breast milk or formula in the bottle. In the next sentence she refers only to formula. Also group instruction in formula/bottle feeding contravenes the World health Organization/UNICEF Code on the marketing of breastmilk substitutes. It should be done on an individual as needs basis.
@fugueincorporated200 Does it really matter she mentions both. Yes breast milk is best, but their are situations people have to use formula. and putting health professional in quotes is insulting, just because she didn't say everything in the way you think. People have enough common sense and their is enough knowledge out their for parents to make the right decision on feeding their child.
Of course. Only an idiot would give their child formula. Breast milk contains very important nutrients which simply don't exist in forumula's. Children that are breast fed end up more intelligent, with higher resitance to illness and lower instances of obesity in adult hood. So yes of course I am saying iots not "OK" to bottle feed. With the information available today its tantamount to child abuse.
You are absolutely ridiculous! Only an idiot would say such thoughtless nonsense!! I understand judging someone who CHOOSES not to breast feed. But, when someone CAN'T breast feed, how in the world could you consider it child abuse to feed your baby the only way you can? Formula isn't abuse, it is a last alternative when all else fails in breastfeeding to bring nutrition to a baby who will grow up just as healthy and smart as a breast fed baby!!!
I am completely disgusted by your comment here! I contracted a fatal fungal infection called Blastomycosis while pregnant! They've put on a drug to help me so I don't die from it! Therefore I can't breastfeed him like I wanted to! So your still saying it is like child abuse??? Are you NUTS???? How hurtful and thoughtless you are! I know it is your opinion, but I'd rather be alive and bottlefed my baby rather than dead without him!
My sincere apologies. No offence meant. Of course for some there is no alternative and of course I do not think you are a child abuser.
My point rather was aimed at those that choose to bottle feed, when they could breast feed perfectly well. This to me seems some what neglectful given what we now know about the benefits of breast feeding.
Please accept my apologies for abrupt use of language.
@MYCELTICDREAMS You are absolutely right......and everyone has an opinion...but common sense goes a long way!!...you are an intelligent woman and don't allow anyone to get under your skin...God Bless
Excuse me but i run a home day care-school and the children that are bottle fed (all of them) turned out healthy and smart. It's not child abuse. Grow up. Me, my brother, and sister were bottle fed from birth and i'm going to do the same. fuck...my body needs rest.

This video is full of crap. They cut out the part where the baby will fuss for over an hour after burping.
By the way, deciding not to breast feed will NOT make you a Nazi sympathizer.

Oh my god... This is just pathetic.
You can't even watch a bottle feeding video without FULL GROWN ADULTS spitting up in the comments.
And this is a really cute video, too. I think I might adopt one day. :)
