  • I too would like t'see a soap opera set in outer space!!!!

  • Awesome!!!!!

  • Robert Price writes some interesting ideas about Star Trek in his book, ' Night of the living savior ' and also on a podcast on itunes he reads a parody Star Trek interpretation of the Bible. Robert Price can be found on itunes under religion & spirituality> Buddism > The Bible Geek. He does the funniest atheology

  • Can you tell me what software you used to do this? I've bee wanting to do projects in the style of the Dallas opening sequence?

  • Hard to believe that Dallas is only about 10 years older than Star Trek TNG!!!!!!!!!

  • THIS is freaking bad ass! A huge thumbs up!

  • let Admiral Piccard also Captain of His Ship, something hokey pokey going on in Star Trek original Motion Picture! Deani Toi and Beverly Crusher look sexpots, some new attire needed for the tv-shows!

  • let Admiral Piccard also Captain of His Ship, something hokey pokey going on in Star Trek original Motion Picture!

  • Sad when I only have a few seconds to see the triple view of each actor, and yet can still name every single ep was used for their credit.

  • @SpreadingtheMuse

It's ok my father and brother have the same mental illness as you do. You're not alone.

  • Not that I know how to make these mash-ups, and I'm still quite impressed, but if you're gonna do Dallas-style credits, you've got to list the cast "in alphabetical order".

  • Denise Crosby (the actress who played Security Chief Tasha Yar on Star Trek: The Next Generation) is the niece of Mary Crosby (the actress who played Kristin "I Shot J.R." Shepard on Dallas). Mary is Bing Crosby's daughter and Denise is Bing Crosby's granddaughter. Also, Denise is two years older than her aunt Mary.

  • This is ridiculous xD

  • @RandomNinjaOfEvil I'm demoting you to Crewman Recruit 3rd Class. Now go and make something better.

  • Hah! I love these things.

  • 54 people preferred "The Dukes of Hazzard."

  • Wil Wheaton is definatley the poisonous dwarf :P

  • I kinda liked this as much as the real one...lol

  • You have a funny idea of alphabetical order. ;)

  • into the favs you go!!!

  • I love Next Generation and I think this opening theme is FAR SUPERIOR to the real thing.

  • This is the only Dallas/other show mashup I've seen that gets the scrolling frames effect at the beginning right (the scene in the frame stays in place while the frame itself moves over it). Captures the 80s video effects from the actual Dallas opening perfectly.

  • @tibbs1179 I never watched Dallas, so until you mentioned this, I had no idea it was supposed to work that way. Good eye.

  • Great video. Just 2 errors. 1. You used a clip from Star Trek: Generations. 2. You used a clip form Star Trek Voyager "Year Of Hell"

  • There was a scene from Star Trek III in the beginning of this great video (arrgghh) .. (sorry I geeked out for a moment ... I'm back)

  • @jtoubeaux Actually that scene is from The Next Generation, but they simply put the Enterprise-D in place of the Enterprise-Refit. But as the original footage is from ST3, you're half correct.

  • i want to see a magnum tng intro

  • 52 ferengi are going to be sent to Urapente.............

  • LOL

  • AWESOME JOB!!!!

  • Ironically Denise Crosby's cousin Mary Crosby was on Dallas.

  • @DarthSideous63 I thought Mary, despite being younger, was her aunt.

  • Great job. I thought it was hilarious.

  • 51 people are without honor. I'd have said they were highly illogical, but that would have been the original series.

  • This is how it *should* have opened. God the opening of TNG always borned the hell out of me, soooooooo slow. Now this, this would've been exciting.

  • That was nice! I liked that! lol

  • this really has a 'galaxy quest' vibe going on!

  • Excellent match-up of two popular and diverse series. I never get tired of this type of viewing, and I'm searching for more. As for 20th Century Fox's concern, I don't understand it. This is re-introducing the next generation (pun intended) to a classic nighttime soap opera that ran for 14 seasons. What would be the harm in that? Thank you very much for the posting...

  • Thanks for posting this nice clip. I enjoyed it.

  • Wow That was pretty good! I liked that. thanks for sharing.

  • This is fantastic. Wow love it!!!

  • If star trek had opened like this I'd actually remember the other cast members names aside from Patrick Stewart.

  • I love this too! But why weren't the actors listed alphabetically, and will 20th Century Fox raise a hissy fit out of being left out (along with Warners, who now owns the Dallas brand?

  • @redraiderredinLubboc Why would 20th Century Fox raise a hissy-fit?

Also... it's just a YouTube video.

  • This is freaking awesome!

  • this shoud have been the actually opening for star trek tng X3

  • picard has hair?

  • I like this..a lot

  • I absolutely loved this...fits very well with the show! Very ingenious!

  • Excellent!

  • what did you use to do this? Are there filters for VirtualDub to make this possible? Great job!

  • Awesome intro! It works :)

  • BLASPHEMY !!!

No no Im kidding, I like I like, nice video sir, nice edits !

  • WATCH`;,THE'``FULL'';TV`;'SHOW';.ONLINE,;'

    GO.,'TO'..THE,``URL'.`

  • The Dallas theme fits this well. I still click on this years later now and then.

  • Number 1 I want you to go take a number 2

  • @cchris000043 "Huh, huh. Shut up fartknocker." Bevis & Butthead & Star Trek: TNG rule.

  • lol Nice!

  • This was fabulous! The music and the timing worked perfectly. Wonderful job and thank you for posting!

  • This video clip is more awesome than Current & soon to be Former WWE Champion The Miz!! One tiny thing though... In the original Dallas Series, The opening credits say... "Starring in alphabetical order..." Perhaps you should have put in... "Starring in order of Rank..." and include Michelle Forbes as Lt. Ro Lauren... Maybe?? You practically DID put them in according to rank!

  • Extra win for Denise Crosby!

  • Inspired by the profound ideals behind Star Trek, this fan site was created to foster meaningful discussion about one of the greatest franchises of all-time, and undoubtedly the most culturally-influential science fiction phenomenon ever to grace TV and movie screens across the planet

  • TOTALLY AWESOME!

  • Nice..but Star Wars-Dallas opening is Best!

  • GREAT effort!!!

  • 0:53...what episode is the one of the right from???

  • @charli003 Crusher? I think it's "The Naked Now" #1.03 where everyone is acting drunk.

  • @FanboyFilms Absolutely correct...just watched that one not too long ago!

  • Very well done. Especially appreciated is the mention of Denise Crosby...

  • star trek trivia fans..........heres a tough one............name the episodes that each of the revolving clips are taken from before capt picard is shown

  • Riker dies: Deanna wakes up, finds Riker in the shower, and realizes that the past season was just a dream.

  • @Amar7605 lol classic

  • I want to comment on the opening before the credits: One of the reasons that "Dallas" had a great opening were the opening shots of Texas, showing how vast and grandiose the region was, and basically it established the setting that these larger-than-life characters were living in.

The shots that you chose, I feel, equally showcase the vastness and grandiose settings of the show. You did a wonderful job putting this together. Great job!

  • Great work

  • Who shot Capt. Picard?

  • @campagnollo maggie

  • @campagnollo= I know who. Fegelein.

  • @campagnollo Vash did it! lol

  • LOL. I love it. It's amazing how well it worked! Thank you, I laughed but I also think you did a great job creating this. :)

  • Hilarious!

  • classic

  • It's way better than the original!

  • The choice of Picards frames is inspired - Locutus on one side and Robin Hood on the other!

  • I was impressed, I liked it :D

  • Honestly, if you'd never seen either show, you would just think these were the credits for TNG!

And if you've seen both the original Dallas (remake/new series just announced), and TNG, that just makes this even better,

superb quality, both in the video production itself, and the choice of clips for each character, great work!

  • I've checked out the rest of these types and this is hands down the best. The framing is not amature looking at all. I love the little turn Tasha does at the end.

  • @JarJar88forever From "The Naked Now" 1st season, and yes, yum :)

  • Very cool - that was awesome!

  • Excellent!! Very, VERY well done! You are to be congratulated!

  • THIS IS WHY GOD CREATED YOU TUBE!!

  • I would love to see a TNG with superman theme

  • This was exceptionally well done. The quality of this video is equal to what an actual Hollywood studio would put out. Very well done.

  • This video is off the chain!!

  • That was SWEET!! And having the enterprise riding off into the sunset

  • Looking at this and looking at a normal sttng opening I have to say, this one makes it seem like it's some reality show or something, but kinda corny at the same time.

  • This video is completely ridiculous and awesome at the same time!

  • @gregr2 yeah it is like there is no rhyme or reason to it. it is useless but also tasteful. i do not know if i like it or hate it. so i guess i will just like it.

  • Well done # 1

  • can i aks what software you used to create this? thanks ^_^

  • it works!

  • So who shot JR? Locutus or Worf?

  • I like it a lot...lol It would be great to turn on a Nex Gen rerun and see this come up.

  • Excellent.Maybe a shot of Geordi without the visor.Or Data disgiuised as a Romulon from the respective episodes.

  • This is a great clip. Thanks for making and posting it.

  • This is the best thing ive seen in all of 2010

    excellent work

  • HAHAHA that was F**king class!, nice one

  • Fantastic! Love it!

  • you must add tasha yar. I hate she.

  • This is so awesome!!! It should have more hits...

  • Genius and well put together

  • 0:30 why are there shots of ST: Voyager in this?

  • I still want to have a three way with Marina Sirtis and Gates McFadden.

  • wow, that's funny as hell

  • That is absolutely brilliant. Absolutely brilliant!

  • Could that final shot of the Enterprise flying into the sunset be any more perfect? :p

  • i loved it, one minor criticism is in the dallas opening the actor are in alphabetical order. But good works either way.

  • This is tremendous! I agree with other comments that this is indeed what You Tube is all about. Very well made, and time well spent, as I am thousands upon thousands of others have very much enjoyed it. I think I will watch it again now!

  • this...is...hilarious. and well made.

  • A good mix of the two shows with the best TV cliffhangers of all time - who shot Picard and JR assimilated by the Borg. Oops :-)

  • It works well!

  • YES! YES!

  • It's stuff like this that make my day!

  • classic

  • great openning and creative!!!.

  • Imagine the fanbase if Dr Who and Star Trek:NG were done in the style of Dallas (in terms of title intro, not music) - maybe with a bit of Orbital for Dr Who, in my opinion...very well done. Mind you, then we'd have iPads...just kidding!

  • LOL!

  • Oh god, this brought tears to my eyes.

    Nicely done.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm just scared as heck!

  • I watched again , It's so damn funny , lololololololololol

  • whoever did this shit is NUT lololololol nice work

  • Oh heavens to Betsy, you HAVE to be kidding me! CHEEEEEEEESY! XD

  • not bad at all. well done.

  • WHEEEEEEEEEEEEATONNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @0:18 - The fleet flyby sequence is actually from the DS9 episode "Sacrifice of angels"... Shame on you trying to sell DS9 stuff as TNG :P

  • @holodock Yeah, I saw some stuff from Voyager in there too. But this video is still gold.

  • Hey! The middle image of Denise Crosby was from Naked Now! Shame on you :D :D

  • great video!!!

how can I do this type of video?

  • LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Where is the wanka-chinky music?

  • thats cool, im pretty sure i saw the voyager crashing into the temporal-incursion shipin the begining and the ds9 epic battle scene there, but its cool! thumbs up@

  • That was so freaking AWESOME!!!

  • Oh, to see the lol faces on the actors if they've seen this. Do they find out who shot Tasha Yar in this one? Or was it a dream Data had and finds her in the shower?

  • awesome. xD

  • Well YEHAW parter! That's some fine editing : )

  • Fantastic merging and editting. Saw a few crossovers in there, voyager, ds9 etc.

This would be great in a SMALLVILLE fashioned theme also. (music and the imagery style used in SMALLVILLE)

  • F-ing funny. LOL

  • I see you cheated a bit with some DS9 shots.

  • These are really cool and funny to watch!

  • This is very good!!!!!!

  • Creative.

  • This should have been the Real opening for the show!

  • Well, a "space soap" it's been called at time. :P

  • Creative efforts like this are what youtube should be about.

  • @capsule35 Hear hear!

  • @capsule35 OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!! Was this done by a TV studio or an amateur? This standard of work deserves recognition from the TV companies I think!!!

  • Wow! Fantastic work! :)

  • That final shot of the Enterprise-D riding off into the sunset ... the ship even looks kind of like a 10-gallon hat!

  • Yeah...that was awesome. C'mon...that was awesome. Seriously. :D

  • Wow.....well done!

  • i love BOTH of these series!

  • Works really well

  • Thumbs up to you.

  • This wins the Internet.

  • This has WAY too much clips from shows OTHER than TNG. :P

  • Usually, I think mashups and fanboy (wow, just noticed the username..) creations are juvenile and boring....but actually, this is really funny and well done!

  • AWESOME..BABY...AWESOME

  • Very well done in keeping with the "Dallas" look and feel.

  • Love it !!!! My two favorite shows of all time!!! Thanks so much for posting!!

  • LOL Clever.

  • This is just so brilliant. I applaude the creator.

  • sweeet

  • THAT is a much better opening!!! It also looks like someone had way too much time on their hands!

  • but wait wouldn't TOS be Dallas and TNG the spinoff show Knotts Landing?

  • Heeeee HAAAA!!! Stick it in you're warp nacelle! HAAHH!!

  • at first i thought: wtf! but then i had to laugh and yes, this is pretty cool actually. well done lol

  • I wish there were more fan-made videos of this quality.

  • How come no one does this for DS9?

  • being a star trek fan is a blatant admission of homosexuality. i assume u queers were touched by ur daddy and/or pastor? c'mon, admit it. ur amongst friends here! :-)

  • Not to sound rude, or anything, but it wouldn't surprise me if this video might've caused Gene Roddenberry to turn over in his grave.

And there's no telling what the Priceline Negotiator (a.k.a. William Shatner) might say about it, let alone ole' Patrick Stewart or Larry Hagman (a.k.a. J. R. Ewing).
