  • @brownperrita About 5-6 minutes. Have fun!

  • This is a really great video. Lately, I've been really craving Chinese food. I don't eat it often, but I want to try the dumplings. This looks yummy.

  • Can we substitute the cabbage with anything else. i'm not too big on cabbage.

  • @Bouserthedog Sure, you can use Napa cabbage, or use only chive, or other vegetable you like. Remember it's you to eat, just please yourself!

  • This recipe's GREAT! thanks so much! definitely going to try this out :)

  • Wonderful video! I've done Chinese Dumplings in the past, but I learned some new tips from this video. Thanks for making and posting it. :)

  • I love dumplings a lot. Nice video.

  • There's something very comforting about a dumpling and something sublime about Chinese dumplings...I like the Chinese tradition of preparing their foods in a way that makes it easy to eat a lot because it's cut in small pieces and makes it easier to eat many different dishes in one meal...Chinese dumplings are delicious and I can't wait to try this recipe.

  • where can you find the already made dumpling wrap?

  • @twilighteerTry to find Asian supermarket or International market. The wrappers should be in the freezer!

  • Awesome and they look yummy :D Your a good chef :D

  • @ellyxelster Thanks! :-)

  • Why do some people add an egg and chopped up carrotts? .....I noticed you didnt. Is this a Taiwanese recipe? Next time I will make sure to boil the cabbage!!

  • best dumpling recipe ever!!!!!!!!!!! you rock!

  • I enjoyed this video very much!!! Is it possible to roll the dough out thinner before you boil or steam it? Thank-You! :)

  • @scruffy281 The ready-to-use dumpling wrap is perfect in thickness, I don't think I need to roll it before wrap. But if you do the wrap by yourself from dough, you could do what ever you like!

  • Thanks, tried this today, thanks a bunch!

  • Wow those look amazingly yummy! =)

  • Would sugar or mirin be good to add in for some sweetness? Also, should you bind it with egg?

  • @SiennaVIP Add sugar? No problem, you may add whatever you like to enhance the taste. About addind an egg? I had no trouble in binding the filling. But if you think it will help, then add it!

  • Great video..i will try this recipe!!

  • Excellent! I use Sesame or Peanut Oil with Honey & Soy Sauce with minced garlic or ginger for the dipping sauce. Yummy! Thanks for sharing

  • can you steam it? Will it taste good without seame oil? Or do you need to put sesame oil inorder to taste better or stick to the dough?

  • @EnjoyingLife100

Sure, you may steam the dumplings.

I like sesame oil- for the taste; but if you don't like it, you don't have to add sesame oil.

  • thanks for the vid. I thought its reall y hard to make, but since watching this one, i realize its really easy... much easy and simplier than vietnamese spring roll... imma make it next week...Btw, i like deep fried dumplings better. but both steam and fried are excellent.

  • can i use chicken rathen then pork....n must i mix the raw chicken with other ingridents then bring them to boil...please advive thanks

  • Yes, you can use ground chicken or turkey instead of groung pork; you might add some oil to the filling, because chicken or turkey is leaner. And don't let filling stay at room temperature too long!

  • I love these. I think they are called Shway Jow, or something. I live in Taipei. Eat these at least 1 a week, but I always prefer some of the ginger inside the dumpling.

  • Hey, I from Taiwan too!

I'll add ginger and green onion into the filling if I use cabbage only without chives!

  • I love dumplings.

  • Awesome thank you so much! I've been looking for a good video to teach me how to make them for my fiance, I'm hoping when I try these that they will turn out as amazing as they look here!

  • Thank you for sharing. This is one of best demo cooking show. When I wrapped my dumpling, my meat always came out. I will try your technique next time. Your wrapping technique look simple enough to learn, and the dumpling look very pretty.

I also tried the deep fried version, but I did not do it right. I burned the bottom of it.

  • I love your cooking videos! I'm exited to make some delicious meals now. :D

  • can this be made with grounded turkey, beef, or chicken

  • Yes, you can use ground turkey or chicken too. About using ground beef, you might add minced garlic into the filling and it'll taste good!

  • You make Dumplings very good. :D

  • O_O Great!

  • Makes me hungry! The way you crease the wrap is just so neat!

Hey, is this dumpling called "jian jiao" in chinese? Can it be deep fried, instead of boiling in water? ( i love deep fried food )

  • You can sautee the dumplings first till the bottom of the dumpling is golden, then put some water in, put the lid over the pot. When the water is gone, wait a little while (make sure it's cooked), so the skin of dumpling will be a bit crunchy, and It's called Pot-sticker (jian jiao), it's delicious too!

  • Hi Hsiu-Fang,

So THATS how you crease the pastry wrap.. I just 'pinch' it. Gonna try it that way next week.

  • Good, let me know how that goes!

  • Great cook.... high quality of cinese culinary art!!!!!

    Thank You!
