  • Are they still an active band? i know theyre probobly old but i wanna know.

  • @thebirdmaner

Don't know what you consider "old", but any band that was playing music in the 70s, or 60s, or even 50s are not going to be kids. Steve looks great, he's cool, nice, and yes they still tour.

  • @thebirdmaner Yea still active gonna see them live tonight!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • I'm 14, I've been brought up with pieces of musical genius like this and to see Steve play live would be a dream come true...too bad they don't have any dates in England

  • .......:)

  • @ chuckachuck. no bro this will never die. I for one know I am going to pass the classics on to my offspring as it was passed down to me. I was born in the late 80's and am fortunate to be familiar with the greats

  • The Best Band In Time :) Behind the bard Is good to Yeahhh

  • If you get philosophy is wakeup will live in success .

  • Im 18 years old and I saw Steve Miller Band play live at Bayfest and Im thankful I was able to experience that in my life time. there will be a time when classic rock bands like these wont exist anymore and I want to see as much as I can in my time before it disappears.

  • @cluckachuck15

Really well said, I totally agree, it's going to be a very sad time, see as many as you can now. As for Steve and the band/their music, I became an even bigger fan after the first time I saw them live, and couldn't wait to see them again.

  • @RockAndFunk I saw steve miller play in reno in 2004....he played abacadabra the joker fly like an eagle and a couple others and a bunch of old blues songs...no take the money and run...no rockin me...no jet airliner....it was a huge dissapointment ......id love to see him again if he would play those songs that got him where he is today...

  • @RockAndFunk one of my friends takes care of the bass payer at a retirement home here in Oregon. from what I understand they are still jamming! :D

  • @cluckachuck15 Music doesn't die. And classic rock will always be around. Most people just feel as if it's unappreciated cause there are so many people listening to different styles. Im 18 and just saw steve miller at the chicago theatre and almost every drunken idiot said your too young to appreciate this. Music gets passed on through generations as it did to you and me. it will only die if we let it.

  • @cluckachuck15

Same here lol. Bayfest was awesome.

  • @cluckachuck15 dude ROCK MUSIC WILL NEVER DISAPPEAR PERIOD :)

  • @vjeko004 no it wont.... but there will never be any REAL rock bands like this one ever again... rock from the the 80's.. like heart, van halen, def leppard, guns n' roses, journey, motley crue..... there won't ever be artists like these ones again

  • @snoopyrocks89 Fuck 80's its all about the 60's and 70's dude, so much better

  • @matspano12 80's are awesome too but yeah i agree

  • i was born in 1989 and i honestly feel like i was born in the wrong generation... i wish i had been born in like 1970 or something...

  • @cluckachuck15 i agree where did good music go

  • @cluckachuck15 I'm 52 and glad to hear words like that from a young person. There's hope yet! My teen nieces won't even take a minute to listen to what I suggest. All I hear from them is the words lame and stupid.

Very sad. I saw Steve at one of Louisville's Summer Jams in the late seventies.Keep on listening and loving. Check out The Temptations. Also check out Sonia Dada. They are 90's, but have a feeling you will like.

  • @cluckachuck15 dude, this music will never die..we count on the younger generation like you to keep it going..teach your kids, your grandchildren..pass on the life to another person.

  • @ta2me1973 I love all the 70s music and i plan on teaching it to my kidssomeday, i hope that real rock like this never dies. Im 16 and im one of the only guys who likes classic rock at my school, it is a shame that rap and hip hop garbage has destroyed the music industry. Long live classic rock!:)

  • LOVE THIS SONG>>> haven't been able to stop listening to it this past week: wake up wake up and look around you!!!! love the lyrics, the way the song begins, how he carries the tune, how the drum, voice, guitar and bass blend to create the synergy of this classic!

  • Just saw them at Red Butte Gardens in SLC, UT! Still sounded great after all these years!

  • WONDERFUL!!!,

  • I want to fuck these 2 guys who dislike this song.....go fuck!

  • ΓΑΜΑΕΙ !!!!!!

  • @letrso padou ellada :D

  • M-Clan, a spanish group, has a song very similar: llamando a la tierra. Same rythm, same chords, different lyrics.

  • Che mostri!!!

  • za moju ljubav!!

  • what a great song..

  • thats just bs, you have to be much older than 17 to appreciate this song.

  • Seriously, you don't have to be a certain age to love music. Stop with the comments about how you're 12 and all you listen to is oldies and hate the music nowadays. NO ONE cares. If you like this music, then great, because it's really good, and if you don't, that's fine. But your age doesn't chnage anything, doesn't contribute anything, and frankly, age-related comments are plain stupid. So stop. And grow up.

  • @jrof2011 Honestly.

  • @jrof2011 well said

  • Erinnert mich immer an " Das Haus " in der Ritterstraße.

Wer kann sich noch erinnern ? Mitte der 70'er.

  • this is one of my favorite songs, i can remember being stoned and listening to this with headphones back in the 70's, this and zz tops i heard on the x, pink floyd dark side of the moon, wish you were, etc.

  • Music like this sounded great then and is STILL friggin awesome today!

  • @mattlovesgears

My revolution is born out of love for my people, not hatred for others! :)

  • @mattlovesgears Since you're young and you like older music we need to give you attention and make sure you give other bands credit on a Steve Miller song.

  • @mattlovesgears cool story bro

  • @mattlovesgears Hi , i 'm 53 years old now , and you as a young man are completely moving towards the good direction !! Good education , very good taste about music ! GO ON, LAD !!

  • Imo it's music like this from the 60's and 70's that is the bomb....some of today's music sucks!!!

  • @spraymalathionjerry put on some coheed or prophecy from texas or thrice or jus the drummer from prophecy or dying fetus or DRI or nofx cmon man they took the basics 2 a whole ney level

  • Great song, great band, great post in stereo. Thanks!

  • @jferg7159

No problem, love this song :)

  • GREAT GREAT AWSOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Serenade from the stars

  • just like your description said, my volume is cranked..why cant any bands today put music together like this? im 21 and i hate what our generation is listening to even though im into underground hip hop i want more old school music in our present day

  • I don't know why music keeps getting worse, you'd think it would have gotten better. For one thing MTV was a big reason for the downfall, making music more about what you look like, rather than what you sound like/how much talent/ability you have. Music is meant to be heard.

  • @RockAndFunk Blame American Idol, greedy bean counting record companies. There was once a time when a band or artist would go though a growth process with the record company. The Supreme's took 9 singles to have a hit (the 9th was the hit). You'll never see it again. Long live the Indie bands!

  • @zangazoo2007

I agree American Idol is not helping things, but the music business tanked way before that unfortunately, it's just a mess.

  • @RockAndFunk Yeah and I do hope that bands realize that you don't need to sign to a major label anymore. I feel sorry for the vet bands like The Steve Miller Band, and others who probably don't own their music. That's what happens when you sign away your licenses to record companies. You lose everything. "You can pay off the mortgage, but you'll never own the house." Courtney Love, on the record companies.

  • @zangazoo2007if u made the song then u own your songs and alwayz will what r u talkin bout if u made the shit itz your shit so what r u talkin bout

  • @zangazoo2007 Your wrong dude u have no faith or love so get the fuk outta here the only reason it sounds like it does and they did a fukin horrible job cuz the guy that sits behind the desk wit all the money so i bet their was a group out their that all these mfs heard and stole they shit and u dont know nonthin bout so before u start lettin your dreams of what u like 2 come in tact no the truth for u open up yo mouth cuz mtv and the radio are the biggest bullshitters out their

  • @Detr1mental Music was meant to be entertaining first for the artist and then for everyone else that liked it. Now Music is meant to be able to earn more and more money! That's why you see alla that crap CD's on the stores with alla these video and sond effects trying to confuse and convience people to buy it.

Money destroyed music. and the best example is Metallica's St. Anger.

  • great song.....is that an outline of steve miller in the horse...kinda looks like a guy holding a guitar

  • hell yeah! :)

  • amazing :D

  • great song
