quick question ... i need to replace a fuel pump on a '98 subaru legacy ... is it basically the same set up as this '95 vid ... and if you were to rate this repair between a 1 and 10 in terms of difficulty 1 being the easiest , 10 being the most difficult , what would you rate it ... thanks for uploading .. thumbs up and subscribed ...
@ubermensch81 I would rate this job as a 2 or 3 at the most. It should be the same steps for 95-99 legacys. If you run into any problems feel free to send me a message.
Hey 79Datson...great video man!! My friend's son's car broke down and he asked me to help fix it. I knew it was the fuel pump due to the symptoms but never changed one before. The car is also a 95 Legacy L. I thought of Youtube, jumped on and jackpot!! your vide to the fucking rescue!! Thanks again man. It is people like you that keep the redneck tool boxes across America in action!!
My Celebrity sometimes cranks for a while. The pump is also kinda noisy too you can hear it whine when the car runs. I think sometimes my fuel pump doesn't hold pressure, I'll keep it in the car until the pump dies completely.
I love when cars have the access covers, makes changing the pump so easy!
Looks like your tank is nice and clean, which is awesome. The new pump looked good too with no rust. You can also put some colored zip ties on it to identify the hoses and their spots. Those hose clamps on the middle one with the screw are the best, or the other ones there. Regular ones don't seem to clamp down even and leak, at least on high pressure systems.
You found a knife in your car, with blood on it.........CRRREEEEPYYYY!!!!!Btw they make special hose pliers for these kinds of things, but you need to be careful when using regular pliers because you can damage the hose
@integraz32lover Yea I know I found all kinds of shit when I got the car everything from that knife to a gps.And I was being careful. I don't want the car to go kboom.
Is the access panel in the same location on a '95 subary legacy wagon?

@Fred924 The reason why i changed the pump now was I did not not want it to break down. And maybe be stuck somewhere
