Great video. I had a new Avalon fancy wood stove that I hated. I am going back to my Tempwood top loading down draft wood stove and I was wondering if you think I should (or have to) use a damper with it? Is it safer to use on or would you think I can control the heat loss with just the top vents? Thanks for your opinion.
Interesting, I have often wondered if I could increase my flue temps buy installing a damper in the flue. with an air tight stove and damper on the stove is it not the same? I certainly can slow the flow of air in the flue buy cutting the stoves damper down, not the same?
