  • @scm1130 I know people have replied to your comment, but they weren’t good answers.

    Tom Murphy is the man behind the 1959 reissue, and it it was his genius design that made Gibson agree to make them. Until just a little while ago, Murphy was one of Gibsons main luthiers, and any guitar Murphy ages is considered an instant masterpiece.
