  • I have a way: Get a USB stick. Download UltraSurf. Put UltraSurf on the USB. Plug into any computer that has websense. Run ULTRA SURF. there u go facebook anything u wamt

  • @Windra3000 we allow Youtube for pupils, staff and teachers. It was more of a bandwidth problem than a network admin being a cock. If it wasn't for people like me doing the job i do then the school i work in wouldn't have much of a chance. Pupils think its a good idea to try their best at wrecking years of work. If you worked in my job for a week you'd soon change your mind about people like me.

  • The first couple of weeks I was in High School it wasn't on and I went on Facebook all the time. But just today I learned it was on. But why can we go on Youtube and not Facebook! P.S. On the block they called facebook tasteless!

  • I did it once and the nxt day i got caught!

  • Why go through all that trouble? Just use UltraSurf for Windows, and Hotspot Shield for Mac, and you're good. No runaround...

  • Doesn't work if the school blocked UltraSurf :P

  • @jmbrink26 no longer works

  • did you ever think things were blocked for a reason?

  • @crashcarstar things like porn and stuff are ok to block but when good rescorce websites for papers are blocked then thats a problem. sites like playlist.com and hypster.com are sites to listen to music (no downloading) and they are blocked. why do teachers get to listen to music while working and not us. admins take advantage of their power and mistreat us and set us up for failure

  • @Windra3000 lol sucks to be you

  • @crashcarstar you must not be in high school because i feel that the issue on web blocks is huge and people should listen to what a student has to say when it comes to them. i dont condone using nasty sites but when good sites that help students get work done or get good information on work are blocked then that is a problem so if that is all you have to say then just dont bother leaving stupid comments like the one you just left

  • @Windra3000 lol no i'm not in high school but i work at one controlling the internet. and no, we don't care what students think. in fact, i'm gonna go look for some kids to bust, thanks!

  • the stupid censorship has now been removed from Wikipedia. Being a network admin is fun when youtube is around, you get to see what everyone is doing to bypass your security

  • its not cool, no1 likes the admins. there r ppl that use the bypass' 4 bad things, but others need them. i needed 2 get to my e-mail so i could access my english final paper, but i ended up failing 'cause comcast is blocked. u should have an admin password that teachers no so they can get u 2 ur e-mail.

  • I let students use my own pc in the office to access webmail, but i agree with you, not all students are script kiddies.

I set up Outlook web access this week to help the students, so they can use the school e-mails system for personal use, so us admins arent all bad :D

  • yes you are... :-#

  • @j7d7r7 In order to 'do your thing' you need to understand how Websense and other blocking software works (Bloxx, Smoothwall) Each website has a category according to the Websense master database (which is downloaded centrally) not all websites have a category and its up to each websense user to specify this if the site is not blocked and should be. This then filters down to everyones DB. For instance YouTube is classed as Streaming Media. All an admin needs to do is block streaming media

  • @AshilanRulez admins are horrible. they block webistes before even thinking if hey are really all that harmful. horn is gross block it all! youtube is also a good scorce of knowledge. (like if ur doing a report on human deformity.) you can use it as easy access to vieos from discoverty channel and ect. if you took the time to look at sites before blocking them you would realise that they are not harmful but helpful. admins are too selfish and lazy to realize that

  • @AshilanRulez i understand that sites like porn should be blocked but in order to work people need access to thier e-mails. i see nothing wrong with myspace and facebook. if you have a hard time seeing a project partner those sites help a project get done. and sites like hypster.com and playlist.com are simply music sites! you don't use them to download just to listen. admins need to losten up because blocks hinder students in more alot of ways if you would just hear a student out

  • @AshilanRulez i was doing a paper on domestic violence and wanted to look at articles. &i needed some pics of anti-violence logos & almost all the recorses were blocked! i didnt have a home computer at the time. so the paper i ended up turning in was very low quality because i did not have access to rescorses. had they not been blocked i could have turned in a better paper. i think admins like you are too stuck on themselves to listen to what a student has to say. we're being set up for failure

  • Nice Nice thanks.

    So basically a unblockable proxy?

  • Websense has now blocked wikipedia
