Hi @AuditionGuy258, recruits who don't know how to swim will be given special basic swimming lessons by the instructors, as part of BMT training. There are shallower pools for the non-swimmers. Life floats will also be provided. Safety briefings will be conducted before each lesson as well. So you don't have to worry. @fysicol The IPPT Standards and Scoring System is based on the NSman’s age and vocation, so depending on your age, vocation and when your ORD date was, the scores required to get gold are different.

To check, do head to the NS Portal website ns.sg and click on eServices > IPPT > Find out IPPT Score

To be honest I am an American living in Asia and I actually like Singaporean Military. BMT seems different from the US Military though. US they yell in order to get to realize this stuff needs to get done and thats constantly. I got DQed from US Army because of my eyes I have Karatoconus in my left eye. Still want to serve though if I can get an Operation done but it seems the US Army wont take me back. So I have thought about coming to Singapore for awhile. Dont know if they will accept-
