The argument is that God's Word (the bible) commands we sing only the words He gives us when it comes to public worship (church).

This exclusive Psalmody sounds cultish

@thomasascension If you look at that text carefully you will have to conclude that Psalms, hymns and spiritual songs MUST mean Psalms, Psalms and Psalms. The text tells us to teach and admonish one another and only the inscripturated Word of God has the authority to do that. I can not teach or admonish someone on the authority of a man-made song or hymn. Only the Word of God is authorotative.
