I initially came to know this as a Tanzanian band called Morogoro Jazz. It attracted me because of the sheer telent of Mbaraka in combining his version of swahili language composition and the guitar style he developed by basically, knowingly or unknowingly constructing a Mbaraka version of the legendary Franco style on which I basically developed my earlier tastes of popular African music in the early sixties when i was a mere teenager in the early 1960s.

Listen to Stanley Mtambo, how he is playing the double string rhythm guitar, it reminds me that time, and these are the last songs of Mbarak before his death. He was up on the top 10's his concerts were parked. Stanley Mtambo, Shaibu, and Joseph we performed together, I left them in Nairobi, Joseph and Stanley were performing for a Gospel band in Ngara Nairobi, Shaibu had left to Tanzania with one of my singers Late Nico Zengekala who passed away in Tanzania too.
