Don't try this at home (it turns u back into a n00b with no undo-option!!!), but actually you CAN take off your body parts :

CTRL+ALT+D brings up your "Advanced" menu if you don't already have it.

Go to "Character" -> "Character tests" -> "test Male" (or Female) and your shape, skin and eyes are defaulted, which means you aren't wearing any of them. That's how you take them off (it's fun to walk around, looking like a n00b, asking "how can I make money here?" or "where do i get sex?") ;-)

you want to look for something called an invisiprim. it will hide your avatar body and then you can put prims in it's place. this is how a lot of shoes work, too!

I've been wondering, is it possible to dynamically modify the shape/position of someone's clothing using a script? If so, would it be ridiculously complicated to customize?

There is a script to change the position of a flexi skirt (attachment) when you sit, so that it positions correctly, and I have a lovely pair of shoes that resizes with scripts. I have heard people are doing this with hair now, too. It can be done.

Ahh it's about the texture elements that you can only replace not remove.

By your description you had me wondering what you would mean talking of "can't remove Body Parts but change them with other parts".

I could think of invisiprims to remove "bodyparts" but had no idea how you would exchange an arm for a leg. =P Kehehe
