no you can not, if you do that that will freeze everything, when you do the freeze glitch that only freezes the game so you can still get in debug mode.

Another way to get the debug screen (a bit more filled, too) is to go to tall, tall mountain as yoshi with a hat on. Get the hat stolen by the monkey.(This next part is pretty hard) After the monkey steals the hat, get the hat back and if you get hit by a shy guy running into you as you transform, your game will freeze. Go to the debug screen and you'll find it's pretty full. Believe it or not, I actually found out this freeze glitch by myself.

Just gives some information about what made the game crash. It's not really a debug mode, just an error report.

It works with both DS versions, and all SM64 DS versions. The multiple hat trick takes too long, an easier way is to go to Bob-Omb Battlefield as Yoshi, lay an egg, and jump on a Goomba, but right before you touch him, throw the egg. You'll now be holding an invisible item. Just run around and jump around with it (might cause some screen and map items to disappear), and the game will freeze in a minute or so. Making a Bob-Omb blow up might speed up the process. (It won't harm your game.)

...what are you talking about? There are more than two SM64DS versions, and you said the same thing twice. The invisible box glitch doesn't work in SM64DS v1 unless you do it to an enemy that makes you spin after jumping on them (A la the "Spindrift", I believe they're called, enemies in the winter levels) and even then there's a lower chance of getting the items to disappear.

And I'm pretty sure that eventually, all versions DO make the game freeze with the hat multiplier one way or another, but I was just pointing out that the invisible box glitch doesn't work in all versions.

It wont work on mine. All it did was get over 300 hats which took about 4 hours to collect.

Yeah didnt work for me its like the newer DS's have a known sprite limit block or something that prevents that trick from locking up mario ds :\

Well first try, didnt even lock up the ds, just lagged it down a lot with all of the hats and i kept doing it and all of the hats just stop poping up so i picked up a few more and the snowman stoped poping up :\ (Using a DS Lite)

Try another freeze. You can do this with any freezing method except for pulling out the cartridge.

I cant get it to Freeze up, It gets to the point to where the Snowman doesnt even appear, I got my game a few months ago, and my Ds firmware version is 3.0 I think, Do I have to have hte Cannon opened? cause I did it without the Cannon on star 5 cause I couldnt get passed the Silver stars (Dam star above the Freezing cols water.) but what am I doing wrong?

its all about what versoin og the game you have- you have version 2, as v2 was put into market to counter this freeze and others.

Thats pretty cool, but I'm kinda afraid to try it. Did it screw your game up any? Like were any files lost or anything? Most glitches will do that but I wanna try it! Cool trick 5/5.
