I think this might not have been so bad if the tables inside of it were the tables made by ZEN. You know Pinball FX/Zen. Those tables are designed to be digital. The tables on here are recreations. I purchased all those Pinball Hall of Fame games on PS2, XBOx back in the day. Not bad. Not the same. I am more happy with PInball FX 2. They really got creative with those tables.
This game doesn't have real ball physics in it? Looks like the ball movement is not realistic at all! I started playing Pinball FX 2 on XBOX 360. It has pretty good ball physics, but still not like playing a real physical pinball machine!
IIf I want to play video pinball there are plenty of options at home (include faithfull recreations for free - Visual Pinball/pinMAME). However, there is NO SUBSTITUTE for REAL PINBALL! Go to the arcade or bowling alley or whereever you can find one and play. Keep pinball from dying!
There will always be people into collecting them and enough people maintaining and reproducing parts. I maintain all the electronics on all 5 of my machines. I've dealt with some pretty serious problems. Sure some of the older and unpopular tables will be harder to get original parts for but any top 100 machine will likely stick around.
Oh goodness. I played one of these for a while at Disney Quest as they have 2 of them.
One of my best friends owns a real Medieval Madness and a pinbot and a local hotel has an attack from mars. I tried; I really did... but I cannot stand these machines. I wish they would have just made new tables that were designed around them being virtual pinball. Trying to recreate such incredible real machines was a terrible idea.
I know it's my opinion but I'll never go near an Ultra pin ever again.
I have two real pins at home and have been looking to augment the set with n Ultrapin. Though I LOVE my real pins, I can see a day when parts will become impossible to find. It already takes a lot of imagination to fix some pin problems. I wish it weren't true, but the fact is, this is the wave of the future. However, I will still keep my pins.
Boring, You say this is the future ? Arrr crap. This is nothing like playing a real pinball ! Real pinball is alive, you play it, push it, fix it, clean it etc.
yeah well unless you have a fucking castle to store a shit load of tables around then this is the next best thing, no stuck balls, no nothing and no room! can play loads tables on one. You still wipe your arse with leaves? No so shut up. This is the future.
I have to say I dislike anything like this. Mame cabs are OK, since there's no real noticeable difference in gameplay/feel, but this just doesn't seem like pinball to me, it seems like some sort of fake video game.
pinball designers and the companies that manufacture them don't make a dime from used table sales. only time they make money is when they actually design it and sell the original, and maybe some from licensing for things like ultrapin.
anyway, this topic has nothing to do with ethics, so I'm not sure why you're bringing it up
@RetroChump agreed. Rethinking the playfield with something digital yet still retaining the original ball in play. Probolem is..how do you add Kick-out holes (you don't)? I would imagine designing it with more ramps would be a better option. Imagine this. What if they made Tron pinball (1982). And when the ball rolls around the play field it tracks and creates a light cycle wall? It also makes it possible to recreate real versions of Zen Pinball Tables.
Fully digital pinball that allows you to play MANY classic pinball tables (medieval maddness, attack from mars, etc) and SURELY new ones in the future... GREAT ITEM, best of the luck to the creators!!!!
imagine it with glasses free 3d screen yes that is a dream that could become reality :D

70 years of technological advancement, and the pinball machine has finally become... rubbish.

Also I dont ever see pinball going fully digital.

Meh, digital pinball beats collecting different tables and spending thousands. Visual Pinball is awsome, if you haven't tried, do it.
pearlmax 3 years ago
Sorry, but you obviously haven't played much real pinball. Comparing digital pinball to real pinball is like comparing Gran Turismo to real racing

So, basically you are saying it is OK to steal IP from Pinball desginers because it costs money to buy a real table?

UMK3HumanSmokeUMK3 3 years ago
I knew how you could play a multiple pinball machine like Ultra Pin. There's a giant screen for the playfields.
