anyone who comments on your shoulder turn and doesn't tell you the primary cause (i do but I get paid for that kind of information) is regergitating what they read in tennis magazine. I will message you privately if you want to know what common flaw is stopping your "unit turn"
If she wants to improve the number one thing would be to use the unit turn on both side and load her legs. She is all arm on her strokes. Hopefully, she as improved since this video and she playing at college,
you seem to be a good player, just wondering but could you give me some tips on serving cuz i struggle a lot with it and my serve is very inconsistent
Very good begining power. To move to a a more powerful stroke you will have to use body torque and get airborne. This technique will drive the ball harder and maintain racquet speed through the stroke because you are hitting the ball with your entire body. Girls have limited strenght and must use their limited body strenght to drive the ball hard.
nice strokes and footwork... to get to the next level, Use your hips. turn your hips as you put your your weight on the front foot which loads energy into your torso and releases with shouder turn. Think "load" : wight is forward, hips turned... "explode": release shouder turn and arm wips. (loose shoulder) Also, use wrist a bit less on the backhand and arms a bit more
she's got no backhand....no proper technique at all. And in feeding her balls you'd really not be able to see how that would hurt her in a match....but it's fairly obvious. Her forehand and court coverage are good though.
there is no "proper" technique in tennis, look at Nadal, hes playing in ways most coaches would never dream of. Though hes winning this way. and why dont u put ur own video out and show us ur backhand?
Also, you should not take your racquet back so fast, unless the ball is coming at you so fast. it should be smoothe, not jerky, when you take the racket back. but you have good racquet head speed when you hit the ball.
She looks very solid. I'm sure you've noticed this before, but she moves her head at the exact moment of contact to look at the ball. I feel like this habit might hurt her consistency in the long run.
lets see her do a serve

waaay to big back swing you stink
federerthegreatest 2 years ago
back swing is relative. everything in tennis is relative. some pros use a short back swing others use a long.

Kelly is now a senior in high school and finished her last season in the Fall of 2007. It was her 4th consecutive year at 1st singles at her school.
This was part of a video made for her new coach, at her new schoo.
