  • MY VERY FAVORITE-WHAT A VOICE-BOBBY DOOWOP

  • thank goodness for youtube. Without it my generation today would never hear these songs. This is beautiful music and thankyou for uploading!

  • dodazzle48--Thanks so much for the information. We hear and become attached to the songs and we never really know the people who sang them. Dodazzle48; I apolgize if I am out of line but you mention that this group is special to you and you also have contact with Marisa's daughter. This is intriguing. I look forward to any further information you have...I am from Wilmington, DE and am a little younger than Marisa Martelli...You are probably famous and being very quiet about it....

  • obviously Mr.HarryWarner knew his music :) thanks for posting mate rest in peace!

  • HarryWarner passed away on Friday 11/12. I am his wife Barbara dnd Idon't know how this works but could you please post this sad news. Thank you.

  • @HarryWarner

so sorry to hear this - condolences to you

  • @HarryWarner My deep heartfelt condolences.

  • @HarryWarner Sorry about your husband's passing. I will keep him in my prayers.

  • Platoon108 - I had an opportunity to contact Marisa's daughter and she stated mom was singing with her church's choir. Said Marisa's voice still sounds beautiful. I believe she is about 65-66 yrs old now.

I love this group - special to me!!

  • What ever happened to Marisa Martelli? Not only was her voice exemplary but she also seemed very attractive..??God, her voice is superlative and the harmony mix is chilling...

dodazzle48--I continually revisit these guys...sound so unique...so radiantly good...

  • platoon108 - sounds like you have been hooked by this group as I have. After a year, I still "key in" on their songs when I am on youtube. Love their sound!!

  • This is the best group ever. Why they weren't top forty for ten years I don't know..

I love the picture of them, so youthful, Marisa Martelli so pretty, the rest of the guys so handsome in their youth but so talented with their voices...Martelli made the original sound so special but DelGuidice and the other guys are excellent.. the arrangements were probably too good for the time..I can listen to the Demensions over and over again...

  • LINK PLEASE

  • @DevilTrigger009 A link to what?

  • @HarryWarner to download the song ofcourse...cant find it anywhere

  • Holy crap! I didn't know Captain Marvel was in a Doo Wop group?! Lol.

  • The Demensions are the Best DooWop era group ever assembled..The interharmony of the original group was perfect...Lenny Delguidice was the outstanding lead but everybody had strong good sound..The female singer was so excellent..This was a group that never got proper recognition--they were the BEST..

  • Wow, this is a great song!! Never heard it before tonight. Absolutely fantastic torch song. Or more accurately, a plea for the lover to return.

  • Heaven, oh Heaven....

  • Beautiful song!!

  • One of the best true Doo Wop sounds around! Doo Wop at it's best! (Bruce from A Cappella Doo Wop group "First Take"

  • Wow, this an alternate version! Never heard this version. Great song great group...awesome singer, Marisa Martelli!!

  • Beautiful version, definitely saving to my favourites.

  • A beautiful song, a great Doo-Wop song. Marisa sings like an angel. the Demensions were, and still are one of my favorite Groups, keep the memories coming. This music will never go out of style.

  • ahhhhhh, Marisa Martelli !!!! te amo

  • A great record.

  • have not heard this before but i love it great song

  • The current group will still do this occasionally.

  • Without Marisa Martelli, the current group is a shadow of its former self.

  • True she was the voice, a real soothing easy sound she has.

  • @HarryWarner What happened to Marisa?

  • This group has that Skyliner's sound about it. A beautiful Doo Wop Ballad that has that classic feel to it and a great post.

  • Classical Doowop. This song and "AGAIN" are my favorites by the Demensions. Marisa's voice ties the whole group together. Probably these songs got only regional attention otherwise they would have gone on the top 100. Their best known song " Over the rainbow"charted but then it was a "cover".

All in all, it's a wonderful group with really good voices and a true sense of Doowop.

  • Love this song great voice's nice harmonies

  • If you happen to have this on 45 "Mohawk 123" you might notice the spelling is Dimensions.

  • Right you are. That is, after all, the way the word is normally spelled.

This is a timeless tune, well-paced and beautifully rendered by this fine group. Too bad it wasn't better known and more widely played.

  • theres an original copy on ebay right now, spelled dementions

  • Nice

  • A great Bronx Doo Wop group

  • What a pretty song.

  • great doo-wop song do you have theresa by them?

  • "Theresa" was the flip side of "A Tear Fell". I just added it for fans of the Demensions and for everyone who remembers and still loves the beautiful voice of Marisa Martelli!

  • Another one of my favorite Demension songs. Love the soprano - so ethereal!

  • I was just made aware of this by a relative....that soprano is my mom! I let her know about your compliment. She's thrilled that you liked her voice.

  • Let her know that her voice lifted the group harmony to another dimension (sorry about the pun, but, its a sincere compliment.) I've been to a number of acappella and doowop concerts over the past 5 years and heard groups calling themselves the Demensions and doing the Demension songs. Let your mom know that she was the best! Is she still singing?

  • Until recently, my mom & her friend would put together a small show for this yearly scholarship fundraiser. She just sings in her parish choir now. Her voice still sounds great. I caught the Demensions on one of those PBS specials. They don't sound the same without her!

  • I agree! Let your mom know that we, the music afficandos of the era and future fans of the music, will enjoy the wonderful work that she and the group did, even from almost 50yrs ago (ouch!), for a long time to come. Best regards and thank you for your lovely songs.

  • I saw your uncle perform at UGHA in the 90's.I still have the video.

  • I was beginning to think that I was the only one who still had a copy of this song. 'A Tear Fell' didn't make it very high on the pop charts but, IMO, it is very well sung and orchestrated, and has a distinctively charming quality. Seems as if I never get tired of hearing it but I wish the play time were a tad longer.

  • Imagine Yourself riding the Pelham Park EL as you say goodbye to your love as he or she gets off at Hunts point and you begin your long journey back up to Pelham Parkway then you get off and go back to you home on east treamont ave.

  • You really do know how to bring back all those 1950s Bronx feelings. Thanks for your great comment!

  • Thx Youtube and people who put these songs here. On compilations are usually always the same songs from oldies-era. For example I hear this song the first time, great tune!

  • I have "Again" on Coral No. 62277 (2:58). The "b" side is "Count Your Blessings Instead of Sheep". If I can figure out how to get it on a video, I will post it.

  • Nice work. I've been looking here for The Demensions' "Again," which I had on a Coral 45 in the early sixties. That was a great record. I could be wrong (it was a long time ago), but I seem to remember them singing that on Dick Clark's evening TV show.

  • I posted Again. I labled it as: Demensions -- Again. Or, I guess you can find it in my personal space. Enjoy!

  • Thanks for this and for the flip side as well.

  • My Uncle Phil sang Ave Maria at my oldest sister's wedding, he was great!

  • Phil Del Guidice was my godfather!!

  • Incredible sound from a great arrangement. This is beautiful

  • I'm glad you like it - the Demensions were a terrific group.

  • Just who is the stunningly beautiful gal in

    this group?

  • Marisa Martelli was the original soprano who sang with this great doo wop group from the Bronx. In fact, the original version of the Demensions ended when Marisa left the group to get married.
