Actually, the Class 47 is only about as old as the Class 43, but I will admit since Virgin Trains took over from Intercity, seeing a Class 47 is a rare joy, even better if it is in its original swallow livery.
No, The Class 47 was built from 1962 - 67 which makes it ten years older than the Class 43 (HST, built 1976) and the swallow livery is not it's original livery but came after corporate blue livery in 1985.

Okay, they aren't 37s, but in comparison with DMUs etc. they're great!
