  • My Nikon D7000 Test: /watch?v=vDggfSxrQc4

  • omg thats the fucken best camera ive ever seen. wow

  • Can you share any details on which format you used when exporting the video for YouTube? Bit rate etc?

  • @SunsetRC I really just exported it in the highest quality apple prores codec. From there I just uploaded the .MOV file to my youtube channel. Easy breezy

  • Oh,and did you use a steadycam or what??

  • @flowr96 no steadycam... just a set of sticks with a nice fluid head.

  • Wow.The D7000 actually has a good video quality..

What video editing program did you use??

  • @flowr96 final cut pro 7

  • Some of those dogs are to skinny lmao but nice camera

  • This cam is fantastic !! It`s all about who is behind .... Thanks 4 posting.

  • @111nuthead thanks!

  • Looks like you're on quite a high "shutter" speed here - the effect is like a high shutter angle. Saving Private Dogs. Is that the case? Or is this how it looks at 1/50th?

  • @EdGripology had to crank the shutter some to get good exposure. I didn't have an ND with me and wanted to keep my DoF so that was the compromise for those shots I suppose. Would have been more effective if the dogs were in a fist fight or something haha

  • which lens were you using for the dog part?

  • Perfect

  • Because of only 24 fps, when things move quickly it has a cool jutty effect. Not smooth, but the picture is very sharp and interesting. BTW - I own one.

  • @gotrottin This footage is particularly flickery because I had the shutter cranked up to somewhere between 500-1000 to help me get good exposure. I didn't bring any ND with me for the lens so that what needed to be done to keep the DoP

  • which lenses or lens you have used to make such "cool" video :) i like it dude!

  • i use this camera and when i film with it it does not look like this, what did you do with the footage???

  • @iaintalks obv been edited

  • @iaintalks 35mm f1.8 lens, 50mm f1.4 lens

  • @iaintalks Do you know how to use a camera correctly? Do you have your settings on HDR; check your ISO; turn auto focus OFF; frame rates; aperture priority?

  • @iaintalks nothing special really. Very minor contrast added, just to make the color pop a little but beyond that it's pretty raw

  • Have you had any issues with hot pixels?

  • @JRskatr Only when I'm in really low light locations and have to crank my ISO way up.

  • that is awesome

  • this camera is better than my eyes!

  • Noise huh. My studio shoots vids n glad we got the canon ones even if were Nikon guys for still.

  • what program did you render/export this in?

  • @weliveonthemoon Final Cut Pro 7

  • hey they look very clean... I thought none of Nikon can beat Canon's HD videos but this time I think I should change my mind... truly an amazing capture.

I really want to know that which lens gave you most comfort to shoot these footage.

if the lense doesn't have VR then is it really matters for video?

  • is this recorded in RAW or is it edited?

  • Great video, and like others have said, you obviously know how to shoot with it.

I've just picked a D7000 up and have been doing some test shooting with the video. Are there any cheap(ish) aids you can pick up for shooting handheld that would help give a steadier shot?

  • Very jealous of people having video on their DSLRS! I wish I would've waited a year before getting a my DSLR that doesn't have video...

  • I would swap my sister for this camera!

  • Hey awesome video, I've been about to upload one of my own for a little while.

Just a question, I find with the d7000 I'm getting constant noise no matter what the iso. Im shooting with a 35-105mm 2.8 and I get noise if I shoot at 1600,800,or 250.

Unless I'm shooting into almost direct light noise occurs.

    Any suggestions?

  • @dontmindthisone i had that too when i was testing the camera at the store, no matter the ISO its weird ;S, still not knowing why does that happen?

  • @genocidepv From what I've collected after using it for some time, I find that a lot is dependent on the lens. If you try and shoot with anything slower than f. 2.8 you're going to get tons of noise.

  • @dontmindthisone thats obvius lol and de "F" its for the iris not for the obturator speed, but that doesn't matter right now, what matter is, are you using a 18 - 107mm lens? is the noise gone?

  • muted ?

  • @masni92 no audio... this test was purely for video purposes

  • what is the framerate ? 24 ?

  • @masni92 yes, 1080/24p high quality

  • for the water fountain, did you rack focus by hand... or with a remote?

  • @jjlwis all manual by hand... didn't use any kind of follow focus.

  • question what lens was used for the scene at 0:34 was it the 35mm?

  • The quality is amazing,What settings do you save your video before you export it?

  • Nice work! Did you use manual focus for this or the full-time auto? Most samples I see of the auto are terrible. Much better than the D3100 but still seems like it's searching too much. But this video is spot on.

  • @ItsNotATuma I'm kind of a full manual type of guy. Haven't really used the auto focus at all. I'm hearing a lot of mixed reviews about it.

  • @ItsNotATuma all manual. haven't even tried the auto yet... not really an "auto" type of shooter

  • Great clips. Were the shots hand-held? Also, what lens were you using?

  • @areacable everything was done on sticks. all the technical info I have is in the video description.

  • @areacable I always like to shoot on sticks. The DSLRs are a little shaky handheald. I recommend using either a tripod or some kind of rig / steadycam.

  • Great video in a sea of lame D7000 uploads!! Nice to see someone upload that knows how to use the camera, not just expect it to be a camcorder out of the box...

  • I agree, really nice stuff. I love the water fountain stuff. I have to pick up that 35 1.8 myself, great lens for the money. Just posted my own test footage for the D7000.

  • Looks real good. How much postprocessing is done in these clips?

  • @recman78

nothing too crazy actually. Boosted the saturation about 20% for the basketball shot but only 10% for the rest. crushed the blacks slightly on a few shots that were a little over exposed just to even them out.

  • Excellent Video. Best Ive seen on youtube for the Nikon Test. Seems like you figured it out, no exposure changes.

  • Very nice!
