Sniping in TF2 is an art known by too few i'm afraid. Most people nowadays (and i don't just mean F2P's) stand in 1 place and do bodyshots. I usually try to play on servers with advanced players and i've met maybe a couple of snipers who play like this. Movement, fast reactions and accuracy make this class what it's supposed to be.

@Polored1066 It's called bunnyhopping. Basically a manipulation of the game's physics engine to maintain forward momentum my continually jumping at the right times. It has since been patched and no longer works.

@edfreak9001 No way. If you've played long enough, then not even spies can spook snipers. I've played long enough where I'm able to tune my ears to an uncloak, and watch for movement patterns that are a giveaway.

Not to mention spies are even MORE situational than snipers in competitive play.

But what really is -AA- ? Is it some kind of program that helps you to shoot (like triggerbot but legal lol? ) or config or etc?.. I have seen some of these players in deathmatches or pub. I think helberg, pr3d and tivqu, they were with -AA- tag and each of them were unstoppable.. i mean even if u are scout they still get you most of the time from upclose like nothing, they were like GODS of sniping.. Can someone explain me?

TF2 hit detection is derp sometimes. Happens all the time, you get a perfect shot but it doesn't register because the hitboxes are slightly behind. Makes me rage.

Just get more to the front and start shooting and eventually you start hitting more and more of your shots. When defending, stay more back but don't camp as you will be more vulnerable to Spies and opposing Snipers.

Alternatively you can play MGE(mge_training_v7) and try to play Sniper duels, or if you are willing to get stomped at least the first 20 times you join, you can try to play even against other classes.

JH still plays today. For some reason however, he changed his name. Its some Korean kind of name, look up the steam group -AA-, and find one of the Adkins with Chinese letters, that's him. I know he still plays because I just played against him in a scrim. What a beast, I went to countersnipe he killed me once and I killed him twice, but he took a bunch of my teammates with him. He quickscoped our med from halfway across the map!

@SteveTwoTheO theres a 200ms time window after scoping where no crit dmg is awarded despite hitting a headshot. it's complete bullshit. the 31.12.2007 and 14.2.2008 patches capped the potential of the class in a way that many of the top snipers of that era just quit tf2. robwiz, pangu, ravage etc

I'm wondering if this player, B||oodSire, was playing only sniper (apart from pyro, i saw the "proro" too^^), or if he was playing sniper only as utility. Looks weird since at 3:41 you can see him in respawn with 2 scouts: sacrifice of a soldier?

@Polored1066 most of the time sire played scout, as did I. maybe 2-3 mins of sniping per map in a typical match. some maps do allow a team to run a full time sniper but that is too broad of a subject to go into now.

i dont care about the unlocks and i dont keep up with the scene. i get killed by random shit in pubs all the time so i bet i would get REALLY tilted if i died to some fucking melee demo instagib weapon. jarate is good in pubs though, because medics cant click on me when im on fire

btw i sometimes find demoknight a bit OP, but they suck so hard to achieve anything in term of team play that anyway, they suck. Must remember that the original intention of valve through TF2 was to make a FUN game (and the least i can say is that they succeeded) considering all other games are more serious (competitive isn't TF2's primary goal, its CS's, it is dota 2's (soon) etc....) Well, purists still have vanilla servers and etc.......
