I found that you only have to enter the bios once after installing the RAM. Just press F2 to get into BIOS and it should show the 2G of memory. Press F10 for "Save and Exit" and the BIOs will close and Windows will start. If you go into system Info it will show 2G of RAM. No need to disable and enable the boot booster.

MY 1000HA arrived today @ 300usd from buydig. Lightning fast shipping! Tossed in a SUPER TALENT 2GB 200-Pin DDR2 SO-DIMM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) from newegg worked like a charm. I love the 10" screen vs the 8.9". One thing I question is the wireless card. my engenius EUB 362 is good to have otherwise I would not be online with the built in perhaps a driver update will make it better.

Excellent I signed up just to thank you! I had no idea a bios boost existed also according to some it was not a 2 screw operation. L@@ks easy I will be adding a 2gb 667 with a class 5 parity not sure if the parity will speed it up a little or not I suppose benchmarking comparisons are in order.

im using some recording software like drum loops frootyloops sony vegas etc

wud this notebook can tolarate these recording software..i mean i have a desktop it has 412 mb ram ,wen i re4cord my guitar thrpurh preamp its jus fuzzez out and in..

will this 1 gb ram an its soundcard will withstand those software?

I was able to easily install my 2G ram upgrade thanks to you! Thanks, a big help!! I also bought the ten cell battery for my 1000HA im currently running on it with settings on super performance and "max Battery usage" i will let everyone know how long it lasts for real!! Also use your thumb on the edge of the mouse buttons to take away the pain from your pointer finger!!

the big batteries sre awesome when you know you need the extra battery. i use mine about half the time. pushing on te front edge of the touch pad buttons does work much better.

Ok, so, i ran my itunes on repeat with the volume on full blast while running a video on repeat with a buch of other windows open... the comp ran on super high performance/max battery usage...

i got 5 plus solid hours of use out of the battery!!

I decided to get it after the clip where you disassembled the laptop and I saw how easily you could replace the RAM, Wifi card, and Hard drive.

My friend had a crappy acer that was hard to upgrade. Anyways, I got the Kingston KVR667D2S5/2G 2GB 667MHz DDR2 Non-ECC CL5 SODIMM ValueRam Memory. Do you think that's also good?

I think it's awesome. The keyboard on this model is comfortable for me and the 10" screen is fine. Much better than the 8.9" which I gave my son for Christmas.

I carry it everywhere. I use my cell as a 3G modem and I can access the net from anywhere I get a cell signal.

I would highly recommend it for the addicted techno geek like me.
