Michael's and Jannetty were actually booed themselves in Kansas City in late 1985-early '86., when they went against the Batten Twins. Brad and Bart were the crowd favorites. The two teams even had cage matches for the NWA Central States tag team titles.
You do have to realize that those belts were in use for about 5 years and were all beat to hell. The back plates broke off, the Gold plating wore off, and were repainted with a horrible paintjob. When they were new, they looked great. Much better then the the other belts used in Memphis (Mid America, International, & International Tags).
Not only that, but they repeated the feud in Kansas City. Extremely unusual to see Ricky and Robert at that time being the heels; but you weren't going to mess with Marty Jannetty in KC without getting booed.
If this is supposed to be the shit, how come there were 37 people in the crowd and they're performing in an American Legion hall somewhere?
And however you want to break it down, you gotta admit those belts looked like ASS.
