  • She sounds like a fiesty little girl.

  • Mine is an only child. She knows how far she can push me with the yelling and she does push. As soon as I grab the cage to put her "nite nite" she starts saying "pretty pretty" all the way to the bedroom or closet. She's been on a roll this past week. Is it mating season or what?

  • @ir1ur12 Mine tells me as soon as it gets dark that she wants to go to bed... All she makes is a grunting noise and acts retarded until she goes into her happy hut... and THEN she makes happy sounds! Maybe your bird doesn't like being away from you? My birds happy hut is set up right near where the computer is... Do you wait until it's dark to put your bird to bed?

  • Oh I know she doesn't like being away from me. If I sleep on the couch, her cage has to be in the living room. If I sleep in my bed, her cage must be beside my bed. She spends a lot of time on my shoulder getting a bunch of kisses. She's like a child. And, I have spoilt her soooo rotten.

  • @ir1ur12 maybe mine is still too young, she's only a few months old... She seems to like her sleep ALOT... And you can't help spoiling them, they DEMAND IT and they're just so damn cute....

  • You're so right. They are demanding but so smart & so sweet. Mine is just such a snuggle bug. She'll be sitting in my hand & I'll say "Do you need to call the SPCA?" and she'll just fall back over into my other hand for a message, head rub with me kissing on her. This bird is much smarter than I expected or read about on the net when I got her. It's just been she & I at home almost all the time since she was born so she knows nothing else but human affection.

  • @ir1ur12 Yeah i've had my girl at home with me for two months now since she was 6 weeks old... I have to go back to work in a week and I don't think she is going to deal with it very well :-( I'm gonna miss her too! So I have been spending every last second with her.... How old is your little girl?

  • She turned 6 in Jan and I've had her since she was about 7 weeks old. She's getting on my nerves today being demanding. She thinks as soon as I wake up from my nap, I'm supposed to get her out for love. I went to the bathroom instead. I got a royal chewing out. Soooo spoilt.

  • @ir1ur12 Aren't they the most demanding of birds, ever?!? I can't even sneak to the toilet when I wake up....! I lie in bed, listening to her happily chortling to herself but as soon as I make a move to get outta bed, she hears me! This is from the next room, BTW, with the doors closed! As soon as she hears me, her happy chattering turns to screeching! She gets so angry with me when I go out for the day. Really scared what's going to happen when I go back to work... Any advice you could give??

  • I wonder if she learned that from the Noisy Miner birds?

  • Mine doesn't make that noise. When she throws a fit she sounds like a half dead chicken. LOL

  • @ir1ur12 I think it must be the noise they make towards other birds... She only does it to our cockatiel, who was here first BTW ;-)
