You what makes me really sad about the disappointment TS I always wanted to see Kyle Reese being sent back through time and his relationship with John Connor when it happens. Well now that TS bombed and the Terminator franchise is pretty much dead we will never see that.

i agree with u MPC, that deep voice(dark knight) Bale uses is quite lame. it may have worked well in batman, but not so much in T4. the phrase "come with me if you want 2 live." has been used since T1, long be4 even Arnold had a chance 2 use it. course this phrase has been heard in movies, such as Casper the friendly ghost ang the ant. if i left out any others, please let me know.

the reason the apocalyptic landscape doesn't look like the future sequences from T1 & T2, is because Salvation is (as u know) 11 years b4 that time and not as destroyed yet and not as many human casualties due to the terminators (hence the human skulls everywhere). I'm sure the next two films will show the transition state of the condition of cities and such to satisfy that look.

I actually liked the movie but you were so right about John Conner. He was done very badly. I however went in knowing that his character was going to be hugely flawed because I read a few days ago that he wasn't even supposed to be in this movie. This movie was supposed to be about Marcus Wright but Bale refused to play him and would only sign on if he could play John Conner, and obviously WB abided to Bale's demand. Thus the reason there were so many rewrites.

Marcus Wright is the character that Sam Worthington plays. The other guy you see in the trailers alot. He plays a T 800 who doesn't know he's a cyborg. According to what I read this movie was supposed to be mainly about that character and they approached Bale to play this character first. John Conner was going to be in it but mostly just a cameo. Bale however insisted that he should play Conner and WB made Conner's role bigger and Wright's role smaller in order to sign Bale. (Supposedly)

i mean this in full offence to everybody, but you have to be a complete dumbass if you had a problem batmans voice, i never had a problem with it because i relized bats did it because of the fact that he had to hide his identity. but yes i do hate overracting, acting is much better when it plays off the moment rather than being forced because of what the director told him to say. and i think what qualifies as an A list actor would be someone who can play against roles and still kickass.

Interesting, looking at the evolution of John C. It definitly has varied at times. I find myself stuck on continuity, I carve it in sequels, almost to a fault. I wish we could see Bale play a John C closer to Furlong and Stahl. A guy still learning, not at 0 and not at 100mph, but in the middle, still vulernable and unsure of his predistantion as leader/savour. Did Bale really study the past 3 films? Did the writers & directors want to create just a money maker or a piece of ART?!

I definatley agree with you when u say that the Terminator character seems more interesting then John Connor.

Also i noticed that you said that the flash... backs/forwards are to the 2029 and that u preferred the look and feel of them to the setting here in 2018, and i do too. If this is the start of the war, and of a movie trilogy we will probably see the world become more like the one we see in the flash forwards/backs, with human skulls and bits of machinary covering the battlefield.

ok here are just 3 things i will nitpick at

1. the reason it does not say "FROM DIRECTOR McG" is cuz no terminator fan would see some person making it sound like it would be starring 50 Cent.

2. the 2nd movie will show kyle reese going back into the past and the 3rd one will show The Good T-800 going back.

3. its not the year 2029 yet so the year of 2019 looks acceptable because all of the buildings might not all be destroyed. same thing with bridges.

T1 is a masterpiece of the technoir genre. Dark, grity, and consistantly sets up the foreshadowing of living in a bleak future. T2 was about character development and its why Arnold, beit a montone emotionless actor, connects with John and leans to acclimate himself as being human. Its why the ending is tear jerking. The final thumbs up showcases that a machine can have a soul. T3 was a lazy rehash of both films cause it uses a similar plot with horrible structure.

well to be fair if they didn't and they just showed character moments only fans would see it. if it only had humans talking and at the end that machine guy at the end very few would notice it especally for a summer blockbuster movie. just look at Angels and Demons. and hell Dark Knight whored out every good action scene in the trailers. not every good scene but all the good action ones.
