As for the voice actor, his... voice is good. The way he portrays it is not. Its very odd.

And Axel's just based on Reno. The creators wanted to put a familiar character in a new world in a different way. Yup, Axel has no other relation to Reno though.

Well, I'd call that more of an assumption than anything. Just because they share a voice actor doesn't really mean they have that connection. Each Organization member's name is an anagram for the original name of the person they were formed from (i.e., Ansem=Xemnas) with an X added to it. Want more proof? Zexion formed from one of Ansem's colleagues named Ienzo. Stupid, yes. But you kinda have to pay attention to everything in KH2 to get it and see it for yourself.

Turns out that Axel isn't the Nobody of Reno. They share a lot of traits but they are in no way related in such a way. Check FFWiki. In other words, Reno was never even in KH.

Axel isn't Reno's Nobody. Lea is Axel's original self as confirmed in 358/2 Days. Several characters in KH are based on FF characters to some extent

As much as people want to believe Riku is based on Sephiroth due to popular belief, he's actually much more akin to Cecil Harvey from FFIV due to his halfling status being able to use light and darkness
