Knowing how God acts in the Bible, even though this is not God, he sure acts like God, smiting those who doubt him. Hell maybe a being like this visited our Earth and it pretended to be the creator of the universe but was really just a powerful alien, and when you're a being like that, in front of people who use sticks and stones, you would appear to be god-like to them.
@jheadSF06 see thats the thing, this movie wasnt terrible terrible, it had good themes and actually an okay story, the effects and the way it was shot didnt serve it well. It just wasnt WOW, now ST VI was a hell of a way to end the original movies :D
Yes,but he sounds off in this movie. He doesn't sound like he is playing Kirk,it sounds like he is playing William Shatner,Starfleet Captain. Compare this movie to any other of the six films that he was in, and you will see what I mean.
@NeoConnor1 Did you even watch the show? In order to maintain consistency throughout the series he played himself saying Kirk's words. He even said so in several interviews. If you pay closer attention to all the movies he is still Captain Shatner.
Yes,but even in his book, Star Trek Movie Memories,he recalls a conversation with Leonard, I believe, and Leonard said Shatner sounded like he was late for work. Meaning that he didn't sound right. I agree. If you watch the other movies and the original series, Shatner sounds more like he did on Rescue 9-1-1 here than he sounds like Kirk.
That bafoon with the beard just gave away Kirk's starship. I'd be questioning that MoFo too.
