  • i saw this car its in a museum in london...

  • The old Hockenheim was fabulous, but NOT the sort of place you'd want any kind of tyre failure!

  • fucking scary!

  • jesus did you see how fast he was counter steering the car? o.O his reactions were so fast to that.

  • Just wish that Senna would have had that much protection : ( I miss the good 'ol days of F-1. When winning was through out the fearlessness of the driver and the chemistry between car and pilot. I just feel that nowadays there are so much rules, restrictions and computers gizmoz that it takes the glamour out of the sport.

  • The crashed car lays in the science muesuem (london) Which i had my photo taken next to

  • @MrLiverpoolfcthebest

yh it is i saw it 2 days ago it increble how fast he was going and how little damge there was

  • @Ps3Reviews40 yeah and thank God! :D

  • wow he explained how scary it gets even though they have spun out many times in their career. he explained how these kinds of spins can get you some more gray hair. GRAY HAIR i can only imagine that.

  • @Schumifreak9 haha not yet:D

  • When i brake in a go-kart and i feel it going away from me and spin 180 degrees, i get this terrifying heart sinking feeling........and then I see Mika spinning at 190 mph....holy cow i would've died from a heart attack:D.

  • "When you spin off like that, you get some more gray hair..." Mika is the shit...

  • @LuxeXx Mika is good driver!

  • Wow Dave Ryan is in this video... We all remember Australia 2009 right? lool :P

  • Similar to Richard Hammond's dragster incident - but the F1 car stays flat.

  • it's amazing how in a split of a second he goes with the steering all the way to the left and then he realizes it's out of control he puts his hands away...

  • lol you got it off the video of the season review XD

  • looks like his rear spoiler was gone and lost downforce

  • @afiqhanifah

yeah after the tire explodes.....it shreds the rear spoiler..

  • @00Billy

their all using Bridgestone tyres right?...haha

  • what happened to him? he seemed to vanish from F1 just when he was cooking.

  • Mclaren had such a bad car that year and Häkkinen still won the championship.

  • he has a 200mph crash and the ferrari fans are celebrating... f idiots

  • @kurwajegopierdolona

It's racing for gods sake. Ferrari fans should be happy for their rivals accident not mourn for their lost. The current Formula 1 sucks because the drivers are afraid to do everything they can to win. You receive a fucking penalty if you accidentally knock off your opponent while trying to hold your position. The reason why Schumacher pretty much holds every possible record is because hes doing everything he can to win. Pretty much like Senna was back at golden age of F1.

  • @kurwajegopierdolona where you can see the ferrari fans celebrating in this video?? and for real, if that happend to a race driver YOU are against, YOU would celebrate also.. i'm sure.

  • i showed this to my teacher compared to the 1995 adilade crash about how much saftey has come in so few years.

  • ha ha mika

  • This looks alot like adelaide 1995, and i mean ALOT

  • terrible

  • Thank God for sand traps.

  • Typical mclaren reliability during the years they were able to fight for the championships in late 90s-early 00s.

  • i remember that crash like it was yesterday. It really shocked Mika, it was like deja vu

  • it's it's not its you idiot...

  • Koita ny idiootti hyvänen aika tajuta että joka paikassa ei oo ä ja ö kirjaimia näppäimistössä.

  • not everyone has a keyboard that can write that....

  • North americans don't care about the accents men. They don't acknowledge that kimi raikkonen has accent above the A and the O in his name. Just let it go you're correct.

  • Actually I don't think any English speaking countries use accents for names, regardless of their origins. It's not part of our language, so we don't know how to apply them. We don't shout at the mainlaind Europeans for not putting commars into 4 digit numbers.

  • was this the fastest crash ever in F1?

  • no maybe the impact was about 250kmh...there were way fater impacts with good but also with bad endings

  • probably Roibert Kubica's crash in Canada 2007 down that straight approaching that 2nd to last bend in Montreal.

  • @ROCKSOLID19 I think Ralf Schumacher at Indi has 2 of the hardest crashes in terms of the g-force. Not least because there was no spinning, gravel or decceleration to slow him down.

  • He breaked his back at indy. after that he is not the same pilot

  • robert kubicas crash in 2007 at montreal is by far the biggest crash (of who someone has survived) in terms of g force. at the point of impact they said it was something like 60-70g!

  • 75g I read, but that's not likely to be directly on the driver. One of Ralf's at Indi was 198mph (Kubicas 146mph), straight impact into a concrete wall - the G-force would have been a lot higher, but a lot less of the head rattling aftermath. David Purley crashed in Silverstone 1977 at 180g (and survived - but with multiple injuries) - The stopping distance was 110 mph to zero in half a meter. That's likely the biggest crash in F1 (if not motorsport) history.

  • Kenny Bräck's crash at the final race of IRL season 2003 had 214g force.

  • Yikes. The 180g crash was 110mph to 0 in 26 inches... I assume Brack's would have been similar but from a faster speed, and with 21st century technology to protect him.

  • Actually there's video of Bräck's crash.

    watch?v=aVpux5JxqEk

  • wow very intersting, but how long did that take you to work that out? infact how did u work that out? =) gotta give it to mikka though all of his crashes were big when he did fuck up

  • Probably Alex Wurz in testing at Paul Ricard, May 2005. Speed on impact with the wall at the Verriere corner was estimated at 321kph, and he walked away with only minor pain in his leg.

  • Jees this is brown trousers moment for mika hakkinen jejeje . Also what if this crash happens in early f1 would be bad D:

  • Why are you not allowed to take photos of the car in the museum. I did and didn't get caught.

  • I saw Mika win at Indy. I bought a 60$ pen at the Williams booth then asked Ron Dennis 4 his sig after the race he just won. In the confusion he put my pen back in his pocket. I can see him later going,"how the hell did this Williams pen get here".

  • what a speed

  • this cars safety saved the drivers life, its safety issues are on display, earnhardts car killed him, yeah great lets put a failure on show for all the gore freaks who wanna see earnhardts mobile coffin job, you sound bitter, petty and pathetic and also a little less bright too with this comment you posted

  • Earnhardt was killed by his refusal to wear the HANS devise, not the car. Had he been wearing one he almost certainly would have survived the crash, the safety cell of the car was largely intact afterwards.

  • quite right too, i do stand corrected, it was not the car but it was the driver, i still feel that earnhardts car is not a museum piece due to his untimely death inside it, we dont see senna or ronnie petersons cars they died driving in a musuem either, i think it is obvious why his car isnt in a museum and quite rightly so too, i would rather swee his winning cars than the one he died in and same with senna etc

  • Motorsport is dangerous and that is a tragic fact. When someone is killed in e.g. F1, like Senna and Ratzenberger in recent years, their tragic deaths have have paved way for new safety techniques and innovations in recent years. War is a great innovator and so is motorsport, and that is a cruel and tragic fact e.g. thousands of people got killed over the years for tyre blowouts on the roads and tracks of the world and that has driven progress in tyre, car and road design. Senna Legend!

  • Nothing to do with the crash, it's there to demonstrate carbon construction techniques and because McLaren donated it.

  • apparently, Mika Hakkinen, if you bother to do any research, is one of Formula 1's fastest ever drivers. he has won 2 world titles back2back (1998, 1999). FORMULA 1 is the knife's point in motor racing. He is a fantastic driver that copes with the G-forces splendidly.

OK i dn't understand NASCAR and i dnt know who Earnardt is as i am from england, i dn't really understand it and i dn't criticise it. Motorsport is dangerous in all respects and that is that.

  • The car is in the National Science Museum, London.

  • yeas sorry i mistake but its mika

  • They've had Mika's Mclaren from this crash at the science museum for years, but there's a new exhibition there where they do have Alonso's 2007 Mclaren upside-down on the ceiling

  • you are idiot??? alonso from 2007???? look the formulas it looks much different not like in 2007 and alonso didnt ride with maclaren in 2007 and on car sides is write mika xD

  • he ride with mclaren in 2007 but it's mika, of course xD

  • i agree with u, but alonso did drive for mclaren in 07

  • check the car on display here:

    watch?v=EpMSXKyMwoo

  • Dave Ryan the cheat?

  • Employees portray their driver in a positive light in front of the stewards all the time (look for Coulthards comments on the BBC for further info on this). It is part of their job. Ryan took it too far, but did not deserve to lose his job for it.

  • Poor old Dave Ryan. He made one mistake which cost him his job - 35 years at McLaren. Very sad.

  • you can not call spying on a team a mistake

  • Think you are thinking of someone else. Dave Ryan had nothing to do with the spy scandal.

  • Wow, look at his hands. Fast reaction, but I guess nothing could save it in that kind of situation.

  • Saw it on Sunday. Seems there's a little oil leaking onto the platform it' sitting on. Also saw the McLaren of Lewis Hamilton upside down in the Science Museum !

  • they have lewis' mclaren from the nurburgring crash? :D

  • its fernando alonso's actually from 2007, but its an easy mistake

  • i also have seen this car in the london science museum, the nose fell of and thats it. it shows how well designed these cars are.

  • Hay, I saw it too. However, this was much longer ago than you two. I saw it about seven years ago. I'm suprised it's still there actually. You forogt to mention that the front wheels where slighty damaged aswell, and one of the rear tires was blown out, but thats it!

  • nice

  • Saw the car yesterday in the london Science Museum, it's not that badly damaged at all really

  • its been a few years since ive seen it but i thought they said they had pieced some of it together again

  • saw this very car at the science museum in london in 2004, should still be there. the car took hardly any damage...

  • OMG

  • The commentator feel like sleeping

  • The old Hockenheim imo was one of the best circuit on the calendar.

  • the only reason they got rid of it is because schumi didnt like it but wanted a home grandprix he was gd at

  • Thats nonsense to me, the maintenance costs of the long track where getting harder to pay.

The sponsors were losing interest and if they wanted to keep the track at all, they had to change drastically. I liked the old hockenheim better as well.

  • @FunkadelicMover damn right! I guess there weren't enough tesco car park like run offs there :/

  • @JontieDesario hehe agreed :) It was a flat out high speed circuit with 40 or so laps in the race. The drivers really needed to concentrate because one mistake would be costly. I don't like the shorter hockenhimring circuit.

  • @FunkadelicMover I agree. i am not a fan of the rediesigned circuit. I thnk we all like to see the cars at top speed at least at 1 of the race tracks.

  • @panik808 the worst thing about the Hockenheim redesign is that they cut up the old circuit and planted trees in its place. So now the old track will never ever come back :(

  • the old hokkenheim through the woods with long straigjts and chicanes was fantastic the updated version is awfull

  • hakkinen hat nen geferlichen unfall und der ganze motodrom jubelt... scheiss ferrari fans!!!

  • wht the fuck happened

  • Tire failure.

  • "Then it just went BANG! You know..." Haha

He is better than Barry Scott! xD

  • en verdad ha sido un problema del neumático i rompió una pequeña parte del alerón.

    pero igualmente ganó el campeonato.

    Gooooooo Hak

  • well they cahnged a brilliant track and made it shit (like the new "bus stop" at spa) and now its been taken off the calender

  • Hockenheim is on the calender this year, it just alternates every year with the Nurburgring ;)

  • i like how at 0:03 "and then it just went bang!"

  • Shit that was scary

  • Shit that was scary

  • Old Hockenheim ist history, half of the forest were cut down to create space for the new, micky-mouse like track.

I've once been to old Hockenheim, in 2001, these long forest straights were really impressive, each about a kilometer long. But they didn't redesign the track because of safety issues, it was just for the reason that they could build new grandstands for 50.000 spectators. Look at Monza, they still race through the forests there and nobody is complaining!

  • 'you get some more gray hair'... mika is a funny bloke

  • hakkinen and raikkonen 4ever!, and the old hockenheim track is way better, why did f1 make them change it?

  • There was trees or something obscuring the track I think

  • we want old hockenheim BACK NOW!

  • woooot that very car in the vid is in the science muesuem in london!

  • Pretty scary thing to happen at nearly 200mph when you hit the brakes!

  • Onboard was quite exiting...

  • Hakkinen was the one driver Michael Schumacher feared.

  • Hakkinen was good driver, two championships tell you everything :)

  • Mika HAkkinon was a gun wat a leg
