HI: Love the videos. I am new to GIMP. I did as you said and everything went in ---However, The downloads on the Registry page did not have a file name "Heal Selection" as in your video. The Smart-remove file came out in code and I did a copy and past to notepad to install it as you said. everything when in but the Heal Selection did not show up....? Any advice is greatly appreciated. This is an important tool for fixing my photos from my hikes.
WTF! it's not working for me! i keep getting a message saying, "This application has failed to start because libgimp-2.0-0.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem." i did uninstall gimp and re-installed it but i'm still getting that message! >:( please help!
Thank you so much for that great walk-through! I was having a really difficult time getting it to work, and was getting so frustrated, and was on the verge of giving up!
@Pixovert Hey again. Thx for the link but it seems there isnt a windows version yet or am I wrong? Also, every time I try to download that ZIP file, it never gives the ZIP icon when downloaded and when I right click/Properties it, I can select "Unblock", but it still does nothing. I keep getting the message "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.
I removed all previous installations and tried again. The trick was getting the resynthesizer file in its right place. When installed under
C:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins, It finally appeared in filter/map. The scripts was installed according to your instruction. Well, all this took some doing, but now it is working fine. Thank you for your help and also for instructive videos.
Yes, with "Save Link As" I could replace the relevant script. With a certain anticipation I opened Gimp and the resynthesizer tool. However, this time a Gimp message popped up. It reads; Heal Selection Notice: Error while executing script-fu-smart-remove: Error:eval: unbound variable: plug-in-re synthesizer.
So I am still scratching my head, and again advice is appreciated.
@lmsor1 Try removing any previous installations of resynthesizer you might have. You may find these in the Documents and Settings area for gimp, and also in the Program Files Gimp folder. (The only resynthesizer files you should have on your computer are the three shown in this video). I hope that cracks it!
Hello, I find the resynthesizer very useful. Downloading the 0.16 zip file and installing it was no problem. I use Windows 7 and Gimp 2.6. However, the smart-remove.scm file simply will not download. Advice is appreciated..
Thank you. Amazing session.

The link that takes you to the Plug-in Registry does not work. Are there any mirror links we can still get the plug in's?
braingasim 3 months ago
@braingasim it's working again. Resynthesizer 1.0 has been out since April 2011 so you can also search for that on the Registry..

@braingasim I'd recommend leaving a question at the registry - they'd be in a better place to give detailed advice.
Pixovert 3 months ago
@braingasim you need to unzip it, you can use WinRAR or a program like it. ive never heard of the unlock thing or used it before.

do they have to be downloaded together or does the resynthisiser work the same without the healer? ^^; :)
JayBassoon 7 months ago
@JayBassoon Try it without the patch if you like, but if you find you get odd results then definitely get the healer.

@lmsor1 Have you tried right-clicking the file and choosing "Save Link As" on the menu which pops-up?
