'Do your readings' wtf does that even mean?! Jamoy666 only said a simple comment, which i'm sure a lot of people will actually agree with. It's all well and good mentioning ferrari V8s, but they have flat plane crankshafts with a 180deg throw offset which gives them the different high pitched V8sound, rather than this deep and burbly 'classic' (muscly? ;)) sound. Rev limits have nothing to do with it. Do your readings!!! :)

The valves are first closed and then open.

You can hear the difference. Closed means quiet, open means loud.

it doesnt matter where the cut-out goes, it still serves the same purpose-redirecting exhaust flow to the straight pipe. this particular one just happens to be at the end of the system instead of further up.

I would assume it was a cut out with electronic opening so that it makes the muffler a straight through design when activated then goes back to chambered when not. Ive seen similar products for other cars. Could be wrong though, might have to Google the exhaust system in question. I wonder if its WOT activated...
