rx8's suck with gas, and keeping them maintained is a hassle( spent over 7000 for 2 years of keeping it running), had one till my brother drove it into a pole but glad its gone cuz its a money waster :). but it is still a nice car.

@goalkeepet Well during the snow we used to put sand bags in the trunk and had snow tires installed, and it used to be fine; most of the times we had the traction control off (since it sometimes won't move if it's on).. And we did have problems with this particular RX-8 (engine froze multiple times, had many transmission problems + there was rust building up in the car).. But, I'm sure not all of them are like that.. Overall it was a nice car imo.. :D Hope this helps.

@TheFurb15 Because this particular Rx-8 had issues with rust and the transmission (lemon). We now got a 2011 Infiniti G37X Coupe instead of it.

i kno for a fact it takes ALOT OF GAS mine does too about abitmore then 400km a tank.=[ i dont kno about my oil seems fine but i change every 3000 reg oil 5w 20 or use royal purple =] sorry no pistons

+1 for what you said.. Yes the RX-8 is gas thirsty! I don't know about your RX-8 but ours did guzzle oil like crazy too! :/

@RuffRidahz Oil 5W30 and you can drive it with 8ltr Fuel for 100 KM.

Oil = 0,3 Ltr./5000KM

Man i have the RX8 for 2 and a half years,i am from Greece where the renesis knowledje is zero and i wont sell even for an R35...But when i see videos like that i realise why the wankel was named like a "bad" engine...If you treat your engine like that (10000rpm and burning tyres)your compression will be at least 5-6 in rear rotor housing..The engine needs protection,needs love!Everybody know to wot and drift but then you must sell it..

Well here's what happened.. The rx-8 that we had.. had problems.. it was a defective product.. everything was breaking from transmission to interior parts.. And believe me we don't treat the cars horribly like in the video.. So we actually didn't sell it to other people but back to a dealership.. And since it was a defective product and now it's labelled as a "lemon" car.. We thought we would just do crazy donuts like those. .:D But I do respect Rx-8's they are easy and fun to drive.

A million yes my friend, that car is lovely, easy and fun to drive.. It goes whereever you want it to go.. But I got to warn you it takes lots of gas and oil.. but if you can deal with that it's the perfect car to have.. :D

Of course it's a 6sp. manual. Is there ANY other way to go!!? I picked up my 08 True Red MazdaSpeed3 today. My 08 Mazda 3 (Aurora blue, which I discovered they discontinued...boohoo) and Jack's 97 Jeep Wrangler burned up last Sunday. Google "Channel 7 Boston" Then at the site, type in "Topsfield car fire" to see the scary but interested inferno. We were really lucky not to lose our house. So we treated ourselves to better cars. Jack's getting his RX8 Monday.

Ummm.. I believe it was like 40,000 at the time we bought it or something.. can't really remember.. But now it's cheaper as it's been around since 2003.
