Well the LTD has emgs and it looks the same as a Gibson. The Gibby probably has better fretwork and what not. It depends on what genre you play. I'd go for the gibsons but switch the stock with duncans or emgs.

lol... same here.. i tried them both. and I'm going to get the Gibson. it sounds warmer and fuller and more colourful as a les paul.. the ltd sounds a bit grey but still is a good guitar, but not as good as the gibby when it comes to tone, that\'s fore sure... dont believe me, try them at a store.:) youll agree with me. (btw I play it on a JCM2000 boosted with a bad monkey)

never mind the las paul studio...thats a guitar you buy just to tell your friends that you have a gibson..i went to the store, tried them both, the ltd is cheaper, and feels better, is lighter, and better looking..

@PiercingTruth Everybody has his own impression. You just cannot say that a copy is better than the original... Ltd is under Esp's wing and just like Epiphone... it's a copy. So you can say that it feels better in your hands, but surely the wood is not the same, and Gibsons are hand-made that's why there are so expensive.

I think it might be a mixture of muting and bending the string at thew same time,I'v been playing the guitar for six years and im still not sure how to do it lol. I think u need to use a distortion pedal of some kind.

It's a harmonic sound... you have to pick the string, and right after, touch the string with your right hand's thumb, and then bend it...

I got 3 SG's... the 79 exclusive is the best as for the les pauls, got two but there's no comparison with the SG's... the SG's cut thru like glass the Les pauls sound muddy (too much bottom end) good for Zakk Wylde's down tuning E to A that's all...
