  • Oh, and please if anyone can tell me the name of the song at the end :)))))) Please and thank you

  • @MegaPuffykitty,

That last song in the clip, which has several names, is by Mikis Theodorakis, and became world famous in the 1964 film "Zorba the Greek". It's been called "Zorba's dance", "Zorbas", and also "Sirtaki". For many people, myself included, I prefer to title it as "Zorba the Greek".

Please note that in this clip I recorded all dance music that was played, adding nothing in the editing process.

  • @intrepberkexplorer Thank you :)

  • My back ground is mixed with Serbian and Hungarian culture. I love Serbian, Hungarian and Greek and I LOOVEE Arabic culture WE all have the same dance format like the Dabek, I just wish that people can enjoy other peoples cultures and not get into ' who started what and who and say nasty things about others belief or race' . Life is short. Peace and love :)

  • If you like this sample clip, please watch my longer, free travel video of Greece, "I Follow Apollo". You need a broadband connection. Ask a search engine for:

  • these dances and the musical style are mostly derived from Albanian folk traditions, though there are some minor modifications to the steps... in any case, these are decidedly not Greek in origin...

this is a classic example of Hellenization of neighboring cultures and is most shameful.

  • No way, This dance is more Macedonian than Albanian!

  • the short fustanellataki is greek style, but of course this is all albanian culture... thraco-illyric-dacian culture, whose oral tradition was documented using the phoenician script that eventually transformed into the modern foundation of europe.

anyone who thinks albanians and greeks are somehow separate entities is really not a student of history but simply a monotheistic malaka.

  • its so funny Greek n Turks slandering each other..its so childish.....

    stop it ppl..

To us outsiders...you ppl are almost the same..

  • The same! No way! 70% of Turks have never opened up a book!

  • @JimmyTheGreek2000

yea and you Greeks are known for your excellent reading skills.

Anyway, im not gonna turn this into another Greco-Turkish war on youtube as i've seen enough of that so far.

All i wanna say is: I'm Turkish, Turkey is my country, and i consider Greece to be my second country, and im willing to die for both.

    Adio

  • We know how to write books and read them as well.

Good to read that you are willing to die for Greece. First time I read this kind of statement.

Must be of Greek origin as there are ethnic Greeks in Turkey today, and yes we have many ethnic Turks also.

  • really? you guys know how to write books and read them too?

well, guess what, so do we!

and I hate to disapoint you, but im not from a Greek origin, but I believe that's how it should be between us (Greeks and Turks), there is no need to be stuck in the history, History is history, and we should leave it behind us and just live in peace.

    Yunanistan ve Türkiye Seviyorum!

Αγαπώ την Ελλάδα και την Τουρκία!

  • Well, you do hava a positive attitude!

    And as the preverb goes:

You attitude determines your latitude (i,e, how far you will climp in life.

  • nicee

  • Loved "Serto" but "hasapico" could use more people. I loved Zorba's dance. Beautiful!!!!! Oh, too short, why??!! Please post more!! Thanks!!!

  • SO gay!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hey, dont insult my culture!

  • don't listen to them. It's gay, and they act like it's an insult.

the men's skirts and winged vests are Albanian Costumes, where the skirts are supposed to be 10 cm below the knee... but guess what. Greeks not only adopt them, but cut them shorter :D

  • this is so cool...i luv the way they dance!!

  • Btw they arent the direct decendants of the Greeks, it is proven that they have over 30% african blood in them

  • Well, we were in charge of Egypt for about 300 years or so, therfore, it is not supriscing.

We have inherited some very good genes and we have handsome man and very beautiful woman.

So what is the problem? Everyone has some African blood.
