  • I got an odd problem, I dont have cdrom and I'm trying to install master of orion 2... Is there any way I can do it without cdrom?

  • @Militaizi torrent it

  • @Rocky54167 Oh.. I got it working already, just sent the file from other computer after install.

  • when i type in "D:\run" it keeps saying it's an illegal command, but up until then everything was fine.... what am I doing wrong??

  • @hyuugasandtinkerbell D:/install or setup and then after installation C:/ Whatever the DOS code for the game is

  • Ugh thank you so much for this. I can now relive my childhood. :3

  • @ELiXiR2722 Your welcome you need any other help message me

  • Thank you! I thought I could just run the game from the CD, but I guess it needs to be installed. Thanks for helping me out!

  • @rokushadows no problem enjoy

  • /run....

    setup...

This program cannot be run in DOS mode...

    HELP?

  • @ShadowNinjaX14 it is a WINDOWS program

  • i do everything up to the part where it says D:/run

i do that then write setup, and it gives me a message saying "This program requires Microsoft Windows"

  • @khalsaman23 .......you know check first to see if it says DOS on the disk just because it ran on windows 95 doesn't mean it wasn;'t a windows based program. There is a way using Virtual PCs to do it...

  • --- Furthermore it says this in the status window:

DOSBox switched to max cycles, because of the setting: cycles=auto. If the game runs too fast try a fixed cycles amount in DOSBox's options.

  • @WoWTKD91 are you sure it is a DOS game? it could be installed in dos mode but it might be a windows game

  • Hey great video! I almost made it work :)

I am installing Time Commando from my CDrom drive on Windows 7 DOSbox 0.74 ...

Now... I have a problem when I installed the game it says following:

Please type TIMECO to play Time Commando.

    C:\TIMECO>timeco

Can't fint Time Commando CD .

    Time Commando (Jul 29 1996 / 13:01:00) (c) Adeline Software International

    Ok .

    C:\TIMECO>

  • @WoWTKD91 first off are you sure you mounted the CD-ROM Drive?

  • so do you have to have a certain computer? my 3d dinosaur adventure cd only brings up two sound options and wont even let me attempt to play the 'sound test', only lets me do the 'music' test. and when i play it on dosbox, the video goes reaaaaaaaaaally slow and the music is way ahead of it. any way to help?

  • @MichaelContemporary First off 3-D Dinosaur Adventure is a fast DOS Game believe it or not. Make sure you are using sound blaster and to make the sound the same speed as the video press Control and F9 it should work. Anymore questions let me know

  • @jaggedtears i'll make a video of that later

  • Hats off to you sir, you are a genius! This tutorial works perfect!!

  • @zrated186 Your welcome enjoy!

  • @RedMango08 Put them into a foilder on DOSBox and mount the foilder where you have games at.

  • @jaggedtears burn it onto CD

  • I got a maybe stupid question!

I installed the game and it works fine.. The problem is when i wanna play it again after i shut it down. I cant find where and how to start it.

  • @StevieRayVauhan13 where you install it at remember the DOS code for the game

  • @StevieRayVauhan13 Type in the exact directror where it is at

  • @StevieRayVauhan13 im having this problem too. I installed, it seemed to work, then I go back into dosbox and I type in everything, mount the C drive with my dos folder, then type in Sea and it says that its an illegal command!

  • @MichaelContemporary Thats the problem you got to type CD then Sea and remember to mount your CD ROM Drive

  • @Rocky54167 so once you've installed the game, you still need to use the cd each time?

  • @MichaelContemporary yes you do how else are you going to run it? it is an old DOS games and a lot of old DOS applications need the CD

  • @Rocky54167 lol ok! I just wasnt sure cause i installed another DOS game on my computer and it doesnt need the cd. thank you so much!

  • @StevieRayVauhan13 Mount the ce drive

  • Thank you! About to play hard copies of DOS Alone in the Dark Trilogy. Helped out!

  • @m15granger Enjoy!

  • @Rocky54167 I'm trying to install Red Baron and A-10 tank killer but every time I type install it says it is a illegal command. All the other steps work up to that point. Please help.

  • @HarleyHawk1 is it a DOS game?

  • I have the Windows version of 3D DInosaur Adventure, not the MS-DOS version. Would this technique still work regardless?

  • @ZT2ExtinctAnimals The windos version SHOULD work on XP

  • Does anyone know how to setup busytown on DOSbox

  • YOU.ARE.MY.HERO!

  • @skylar15123 hahaha yay thank you

  • I already know how to use ISO but don't media making companys use that to make their media's disks?

  • Hi there! I just installed 3D Dino adventure, and was wondering how you made yours fullscreen? I run WIndows 7 right now and don't want to play it in a tiny box. I'm not really computer savvy, I just finally got my very own personal computer (laptop) in December and I finally have an excuse to play my old games and see what I still want to keep.

  • @stevesminty Congradulations!!!! and yes you can press alt and enter when DOSBox opens or go to the config file and when it sas fullscreen it will say false type in true

  • @Rocky54167 Thanks so much for the tip. Unfortunately when I fullscreen, the image freezes but the game runs normally underneath the frozen image. When I go back it plays as normal. I'm not sure where the issue is.

  • @stevesminty hmmm i do no that DOSBox can be a bit glitchy on Windows 7

  • I just mount C:\.

  • @garry12gg i did not know that but once again i am just showing the most direct way i do it and the way most DOSBox tutorials will tell you

  • @Rocky54167 It's NOT recommended because if you run a DOS virus it could wipe your drive!

  • @garry12gg Okay smart ass first off that is the way i have been using it for years second off thats what most of the people who use dosbox USE to start theres off and 3rd its my fuckin video have i gotten a virus since i've used DOSBox no NO, and quite frankley when i was learning how to use this a DOSBox tutoral site showed me how so please if you don't like it please don't give me tat bull shit kthanksbye

  • I think my PB Multimedia had a 512MB hdd, so yeah, anything that was even tens of MB was a big deal. I remember trying to install the original Quake on that thing, and ended up deleting almost everything except windows 3.1, and my parents files. ironically, I have to thank PB for my wanting to upgrade and build my own computer ever since. Good times.

  • @nezimar hahahah thats funny, but that is my point is that back then anything over 30 MB in 1990 WAS HUGE, by the time my uncle purchased his Packard Bell it was 2 GBs

  • Makes more sense this way

I wish I could start all this tonight but it's already late and I have a test tomorrow : / Yay for college learning!

I'll be sure to let you know how it works out... Thanks for all the memories :)

  • @DoggySporty haha your welcome and defiantly let me know and i understand i am on my week off in college!
