@simoncooper100 I suppose the complaint now is that they care more about the commercial deals than they do about playing, but I really believe that isn't true with at least 99%, if not 100%, of them.
@simoncooper100 Let's also not forget that Stanley Matthews advertised fags, despite being a non-smoker! (I think it was one of his biggest regrets later on.) Also that renowned socialist Maradona has been in his fair share and not regretted any.
Pat Jennings also advertised Frosties and I believe he also appeared in an ad for sausages which went out on regional Ulster TV in the 70s.

I can easily imagine Wayne Rooney advertising Shrek, because he looks like him..
