the 2.8 turbo was not a real good engine .... although it has a turbo it doesnt really produce any descent power or torque and they changed the diff ratio's an diff centre sieze smaller .. they have a habbit of blowin diffs easily... i had a 4.2 natural an fitted a 6.5 chev ;) best thing i did lol

hahahan i think your the tool mate lol .... i know plenty of blokes that put big engines in there cruisers and one in particular put a 6.5 chev diesel twin turbo that had torque out the wazoo an blew up 3 gear boxes, 2 rear diffs, 3 front drive axles(c/v joints i believe) an 2 rear axles, after all that he pulled all the cruiser drive train out an put in nissin gq drive train an never had a prob... not the first bloke ive known that has done that either. i do like the fully floating rear axle

down the back of Forrest, a track called Cowley's drop of, we went the hard way, pretty hard when 4 out of the 5 vehicles broke cv's engine mounts and all the rest! Wouldn't do it without at least a front or rear locker or both and 35 in tyres and a good winch, thats in the dry too! some mates tried it when water running down the hill, and took them approx 2.5 hrs to get 1 4x4 up there!

yeah its not fun however i have found a joint in Bayswater, Melbourne that does fibre glass and kevlar panels for GQ, GU patrols and 80 series cruisers, they have 3 different wheel arch sizes too, they say the med one is good for tyres up to 37 in!! might be worth a try, if you want the details let me know

its actually my mates from the club, i do beleive he has 2 inch body and maybe 2 inch suspension lift not sure tho, dont need much other than that just cut the guards out, as for the ford badge it is actually a ford maverick (my mistake!!) yeah she wasnt too crash hot after that tho! 2 broken engine mounts a broken cv and an extra few dints, came out of it pretty well really!! check out me 4x4 club website - ill email it to ya!
