  • very nice tutorial. very well spoken. About the Approach-Speeds: Check Google for performance charts. There's also a realism mod available in the avsim forum which enhances the flight dynamics and EPR gauges. Then you can really fly this thing by the tables, which is alot fun.

  • @blub77 Thanks! I'll check into the mod... It sounds great.

  • Thanks sir, nice landing!!!

  • @baludinho Thanks!

  • Very very nice movie man, touch the reality, and the view from the vc and the sound is a very immersive.i want more of video like this, excellent, 5 stars:)

  • I like the captain sim 727 for fs2004 but what bums me out is I have a couple freeware planes that are much better as far as flight dynamics go and a couple panels that are far superior. Still the thing is nice.

  • did you have full flaps

  • @TheProPilot100 - No I don't use full flaps on the 727... from what I can tell they (full flaps) are not to be used unless an emergency. If you own the CS727 you can check the manual or zoom in next to the flaps gauge and you'll see a warning message about using full flaps. Thanks for the comment.

  • I do not understand where you got the 188 degrees fro final. I checked the Approach Plate and it says 190.

  • @ottoramsaig the approach plate heading must have changed since I've made this video... You know with the changes in magnetic headings over time.

  • Thanks again, lovely tutorial, very well done

  • This is a great add-on, but it would be even better if it worked with FSX, I have had NO LUCK downloading this or any other to my FSX. I flew the Electra 188 and the 727 200/ 737/ and rounded out my career with the 757. They were actually easier than trying to install and get the Sim up and working correctly. I would like You to fly and actual IFR Approach with me, some things are a little different than You have shown. Although You did a good job for the sim.

  • @Super3851 That would be great to fly an actual instrument approach with you in any of the 3 aircraft (727,737, or the 757). Yeah, I'm sure the sim is very different from real world. It's mainly out there for us dreamers. I'm sorry you are not getting the add-on aircraft to work.... Have you gone to the Captain Sim forum for any help getting it to work? It's a great place to get tips and advice on any problems you might have. I have several add-ons for FSX and very few are plug and play.

  • Great video. Question-- why did you use Man GS instead of Auto GS, and how did the AP know to capture the GS when you flew into it? Is it because the ALT Hold was still on? I do things very similar to your vid, only I use Auto GS, and the ALT Hold clicks off as the AP flies into the GS and then follows it down.

  • I think your landing setup is...strange.

I see at 5000ft you had already flaps 25 and gear down...thats crazy!

You should gradually reduce speed and apply 5 or 10 degrees flap when it reaches the minimum speeds of 200-180 and wait for the glide slope active.

Once it engagesthe GS then yes gear down and flap 15. At the MM apply flaps 25 and at the IM full flaps if necessary.

  • @kmentt Approaching the OM, the speed should be 200kts down to160kts which requires flaps 15, gear down at the OM, landing flaps no later than 500' AGL, but really should be extended right after three green gear, if a real CAT II approach.

The real airplane has flaps at 2, 5, 15, 25, 30, 40. (the last two may be no longer used) Flaps 2 is needed to go below 200Kts. At 5, full leading edge devices are extended.

  • very nice bro ; )

  • So what i do is i leave the heading and altitude hold on all the way through the approach? Or do i turn them off at some point? Thanks! :)

  • @flydynasty006 - Yes, just leave them on all the way through the approach. Thanks for the question.

  • @MercuryOneOne The real airplane trips the heading hold off at LOC capture, and the altitude hold off at glide slope capture, if the GS Auto mode is used. Using GS Man will cause the aircraft to immediately chase the glide slope, up or down, and will automatically trip off the altitude hold. GS man should only be used when on the glide slope, if not, the resulting abrupt pitch change is exciting.

  • Fine video, 5stars first 727 autopilot Ty Mercury

  • @LennynAirway -- Not a problem, I hope the video was helpful.

  • @MercuryOneOne yes it's
