@jhurst111 well, I would never buy a movie/liscensed game brand new because they are never worth the full retail price. If you're asking for an idea, i'm talking about bargain bin cheap. Go get a decent game with that gift card like Red Dead Redemtion, Fallout NV or even Dead Rising 2. Heck, the new assassin's creed if you want parkour and third person action.

At the end of the day, it's your choice. But this is my recommendation or how I would do it.

I heard that the game was a bit of a let down. I also heard that the even though the story in the movie was a little shallow but the visuals and the sound track made up for it in multiples. So yeah I would recomend skipping the game, and watching the movie in the theaters cuz I'm pretty sure its one of those movies that really shines in the theaters.

That tank section is definitely a great place to grind for XP. When going for level 50 that's the best place to do so since you can increase by 2 levels each time.
