the first thing that came to mind when I saw that lamp cord was "wtf were the previous owners thinking?" like you said, it's never a good idea to run wire under carpet, and lamp cord can't carry much before maxing out. not to mention the lack of a ground connection.
Bill, What's with the "Roach Palace" ? Is that like the club house ? How did you come into that ? I mean, I must admit, I'm a little jealous. Wish I had a house for nothing but my computer stuffs and other hobbies. -Cheers
I wonder if ther's a way you can wire your programable thermestock up to your pluging. so that way you can have the power turn the air conditioner on and off by the well thermestack when it's on cool mode
Cool we had a air conditioner and heat unit that was controled by a well thermesstock In are portable classroom. The air conditioner also had a heat coil on it and the air conditioner was thro the wall . That turn the unit on and off auto. cool on 21 C

well i guess the roach palace is starting to look less, well, like a roach palace. place is looking pretty good. sounds like you could be an electrician too. a regular jack of all trades.
Also worth noting is the fact that we had to move stuff off of the shelf in the room, so that we could move the shelf and I could run the wiring along the wall behind it.
It's funny how putting stuff on a shelf makes it seem like there is less of it.
Nothing so far that couldn't be dealt with using a #13 shoe!
I and the keykeeper have seen racoons on the roof early in the morning, but none have ventured inside yet. I need to trap them and take them out to the country.
I thought the case was too nice to run over or recycle, so I put a Biostar P4M900-M4 motherboard, 20GB Western Digital hard drive, 512MB RAM and an AGI/HiPro 350 watt power supply in it. Processor is an S478 2.53GHz/533 Celeron. The OS is Windows 2000 Pro SP4.
Since that time it has gone to 2GB of installed RAM, a four channel AverMedia DVR card, and a 500GB Seagate SATA hard drive was installed for video storage.
This fact is why our parents have grey hair! We were all pretty well behaved growing out, but I assure that all of us four boys had our moments when we came up with some less than totally inspired ideas.
I should probably talk about some of these in a video. There are at least two that are really funny--in retrospect of course.
pretty sweet I never would of put 2 and 2 togther about you and FURR HEAD I've been thinking his whole time he was just somoene that lived up the street from you and you were friends with him lololol. pretty sweet!
(furthermore--and I say this with some trepidation/hesitation knowing that it might make some people downright mad--why would it *matter*?)
(if you're going to write a 500-character spiel about it now, please don't)
Either you enjoy the videos or you don't. The important part is that political, religious, sexual, whatever orientation hasn't got anything to do with it. I don't get all bothered about that kind of stuff. I have better things to do and think about.
well it only appears so... i got no licence plates nor insurance. I got brakes to redo, exhaust manifold to change and some part of the steering column which i dont know how its called in english, but nothin terrible. I was hoping to have it back on the road at the end of the summer, but im now loosin my job, so i wont have the money... well see ! :) keep up the good work, dude

The sad part about the cord under the carpet is, it only would have needed another 10-12 feet to just run the cord around and along the baseboard.

It was uhh...rather late...when we made this video.
Which is to say that I don't know exactly how late it was but I have a strong feeling it was well past midnight!

Speaking of operation panopticon, how is that working out? Any more critters making their was into the Roach Palace?

Sweet! Gotta love blinking lights! Did you sleep overnight at the place?
themaritimeman 2 years ago
No, I don't live or sleep there.
I use the place as climate controlled storage, the operation panopticon viewing location and as a place to relax from time to time.
uxwbill 2 years ago
lets all move in and fix the place up:)

With all those fans running I have to imagine the inside of the roach palace is windier that the outside :D
MCRmechanic 2 years ago
Most of the fans you've seen don't run all that often. The Lakewood fan on the floor runs to help the conditioned air circulate around the room.
uxwbill 2 years ago
would it be same to say that it would be possible to make it windier inside than outside? cuz that would be hilarious.
MCRmechanic 2 years ago
Probably. At the very least I'm sure we could make it really noisy in there. That would have to count for something!

You really want communist edison (or ameren, depending on your part of the state) to own you, if you try to pull off that stunt?

Yes I can, and yes I did.

Hey Bill....Great vids man, keep up the good work.BTW,thats pretty cool,I didn't know you,Keykeeper and Bizarrefurhead were all brothers.

Yep, we are all brothers. And therefore we have the chance to get together and find new ways to make trouble while the camera is running.

I have the same computer at 2:00 :D

This one has new innards because some of the old ones were obliterated by a nasty power spike.
I like the case design, so I saved it and reused it for the security camera project.
uxwbill 2 years ago
Did the old innards have an AMD Athlon XP processor?
pickupman1995 2 years ago
Yes. It was a Compaq Presario S4020WM.

It wasn't plugged in when I bought the place, so maybe someone rubbed their neurons together and thought that it wasn't the best idea ever.
Of course, there were no smoke detectors in the place when I bought it, so I cannot be sure.

itscool1968 2 years ago
Yes. We're all still at home with our parents.
I was planning to move out. That was before I found that the Roach Palace really had some serious problems.
I tried recently to buy another house in great shape. Someone beat me to it. :-(
