Wasn't this the last SJ Mile? I was there for that. I saw my first mile in 1975, the last year for straight pipes. The next year they had mufflers like today. I always watched from the first turn.
@IExposeMormonism remember the ear-splitting sound coming from brelsford's and erv kanamoto's kawasaki H2 750 2-stroke? that thing must have been 20 mph faster down the straights.

We still talk to Erv a few times a year. Along with the Sac mile this year,they is also a Santa Rosa Mile @ the Sonoma County Fairgrounds
