Hey, Gilmour is great and lets face it, there would be "no" Pink Floyd if he had not been a part of it way back when.
With this said, I saw this show in 2007 in Connecticut. It was fantastic and so much better sounding than the youtube entries provided here. Believe me the music was tight and sounded just like the album. Roger Water deserves a lot of credit for pulling this altogether, and the three or four musicians who played Gilmours parts did a terrific job. Sad no DVD was made.
Ok, this is great... great show. Let's be honest though, please... Roger Water's band doesn't hold a candle to David Gilmour's ensamble he toured with. That was just amazingly tight on every instrument and plus David's singing and guitar playing.
David who? Take a look at the credits on " a momentary lapse" and see how many people it took to recreate Roger's arrangements... even after they were sent back to re-record the album because it didn't sound " Pink Floyd" enough!
Yeah, yeah... listen, I have the same respect for Roger Waters as Gilmore and know that Waters is responsible for a lot of their best songs. I'm only criticizing his band on his current tour. Cheers.
There'll never be anyone like David GilmoUR. But, Roger has certainly learned that he doesn't need David (or Nick and Richard)to perform their classics. The Floyd have performed "Dark Side" on recent tours, and they've proved that they don't need Roger either. Either way, 2 Floyds are always better than one! But just imagine if they decided to reform? Twould make a Zep reunion seem like a "so what?
I dont like how Roger is using TWO guitarists now for the solos just to make it more album like. When I saw him in 06, they didnt do that, but it still sounds pretty rockn, better in 06 though! :D

Both guitarists together don't equal David Gilmore, but it's still a pretty good version.
Great quality!
