At first all i could think is wow that's one big redhead lol . But no more then a minute in and i was so intrigued i didn't know what to think. Orchestra and folk mixed together, this makes no sense i thought. But i was drawn to it like it was magic. Beautiful lyrics, beautiful everything.I became lost in every second of it. It truly is an indescribable 17 minutes and 12 seconds of musical bliss.
'All Alone In An Empty House' is probably one of my favourite albums now. There ridiculously unique and awesome. Wish they would come to england! When i first got into them i couldent find any of there stuff anywhere!! why are they so underratted..
Does anyone else think that the cellist to the far left in the black looks a whole lot like Charlotte Gainsbourg who played Stephanie, the love interest in 'The Science of Sleep'?
besides its a great band and tune, it would have been nice to do a decent colour correction treatment on the footage as Ari looks like a cooked lobster ... but thumbs up for the band and the output here!
I definitely hear the film score sound in these arrangements. During "Song for the Painter" i could just imagine dramatic plot lines and memorable flashbacks being delivered during musical interludes. Something about the the xyliphone at 7:15 to 8:00 takes me back to my childhood. I'm not sure why a musical instrument would have such power...perhaps it's often played in dream sequences in popular film; or maybe it has a soothing lullaby sound that whispers calm to my remembering ears.
Heaps of talent and creativity = WOW!

I was hoping the folks at NPR might help a newbie filmmaker? How many mics were used and what kinds? All the instruments sounded so crisp!

I was lucky to see them this summer. I was moved to tears. And I uploaded the whole show onto YouTube, too. I REALLY hope they find more success!
