hiya john yep m8 finningley was great mate shame they closed it down ......thing with church fenton they were pulling the crowds in and making it pay that was the only thing some pple looked forward to each year.
my late father was stationed at raf church fenton back in 1951 i was born in ulldeskelf the villiage next to the station i can remember the 1958 air display very clearly
@raeven74 Too right there mate,i sure do miss them.T he times i had at Church Fenton were superb, but i have to admit that RAF Finningley had to be my absalute favourite i never missed a show.........thanks for the comment my freind.........John
Its 92'. I was 6 years old back then and got a free helicopter ride on a Bell Jetranger( the bloke forgot to ask my dad for the 18 quid). It was Fenton' then onto Finningley 92'. Church Fenton being the second to last time I saw the Vulcan in flight.
Thanks for the info,i have a couple of video's from the 90's must have got them mixed up somehow,go on be a devil and find your old vids, and post them up i sure will give them the once over..........John.
You may be right it could be 1992,i am not sure if the date pops up somewere in the video,i know they used to do the air shows in the middle of the summer.
It was 92, most of the programmes from the Church Fenton shows are online the rafchurchfenton website which is well worth a visit if you're sentimental about these things, as I am!
Very good filming by the way, I suspect mine will be terrible if I ever find them, all wobbly and out of focus!!
Thanks Wayne, yes they are coming off the tape pretty well,i think i kept up with the aircraft quite well,i have just posted another one,of a Tornado, check out the high speed passes on that one lol.

Are you sure its 1991? The commentator makes a reference to October 1991 in the past tense, maybe its 1992?
If so, I was there and probably have it on old VHS somewhere too, I must have a dig about at my parents house for my old vids!

I don't mind being the first to watch and rate your video John
You can follow these planes better than I can with my camcorder.
Real nice work there and they are coming off the tape pretty good.
