Oh man, it's pretty cool how these old games are still being released on newer systems, and they're still popular among kids today. I used to play this when I was a kid, and I'm 26 now!

Those sound effects they added would get really irritating after a while though.

this game is sooooo long and hard even after unlocking everything and beating everything THERE IS A ALTER UNIVERSE FOR THIS it ahs teh same story and stuff except that things look different like the koopa troopas shell are mario heads adn the pokeys are made of metal spikes

I really hope that Nintendo are going to include this game as part of the ambassador programme,as it turns out that Super Mario Advanced 4:Super Mario Bros 3 is less likely to be included,but I think Nintendo will more than likely include Super Mario Bros 3 for NES instead,well I sure do hope so because I absolutely adore that game,I just wish that Nintendo would just hurry up and reveal the rest of the games that are coming to the 3DS,Suppose I will just have to wait and be patient.

Haven't played this game in years, since the good SNES days. I can vividly remember each level. Being a full-time college student, and a part-time worker it is hard for me to have the time to play, let alone the money to buy a gameboy. However, today I said fuck it. It's weird, but I play only Luigi on the actual GBA game and only Mario on the ROM version. Technically Luigi is better because his Yoshis can spit any enemy and not just Koopas, but I think on the ROM he's harder to control than on the real thing though, cause I keep falling off cliffs :P

dude its called an intro. they didnt do that before as it took up memory and yes it comes with the snes super mario world and the original mario bros with the pipes on the sides where you attack crabs and koopas etc. no luigi doesnt fallow you thats just an intro

In the SNES version, Luigi is in multiplayer only. in the GBA version, you can change between people with R. Luigi has his flutter jump from SMB2. Also, the GBA version has an intro, voices, better sound and some better graphics.

not much just the Lives in GBA u can get 999 and in Snes u get 99 lifes and in gba u turn to normal if hit once if u had fire flower of cape and in Snes if u had flower or cape u turn to little mario

The GBA version has character voices, the intro which you see in this video and downgraded music. Luigi also has his own sprite (as opposed to being a palette-swap in the original) and has that floaty-jump ability, as far as I remember.

The game was simply altered to be a better game for the casual and children grouped players. However- I was actually able to beat the game back when I was much younger and probably even completed all the Star Road and Special Levels (Funky,Tubular ect...)

no its not! the graphics are slightly altered, and the sound is worse. the game gives you many more power ups and 1 ups, and what really fucks it for me is the LUCKY! every time you get something. 1 thing that made the snes version fun as it was, was 2 player, without some dumb link cabel.

for one, the sound hurt my ears. it also insulted expireienced players expecting it to be like the old with waaay to many powerups, and a kick in the face for no multiplayer.

The original is always better, i liked that Luigi had different stats in this version though, and that you could save your lives, and that you could see your stats on each level, whether you did both exits or whether you got all 5 yoshi coins or not.
